Hello!

I was just on mousesaver.com and noticed last year's dates for MNSSHP. Well this year we are planning our vacation into October so we can attend this event! I have already booked a resort ressie for Sept 25-Oct 8. I noticed that last year they only had 2 days available the first week and it was on a Friday and Sunday. I would rather go in the middle of the week because of crowds. Would I be better changing our reservation to the first 2 weeks of Oct in hopes of a middle of the week MNSSHP? Or is Sunday or Friday night at the first of the month not too bad.
My sister is coming the second week we are there to stay with us! I want her to really enjoy WDW because as kids we always went during the middle of the summer! Last year we went in Sept and the crowds were great and I really bragged to her! She didn't go last year.

Thankyou!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have been on a sold out Halloween party this year, and still enjoyed every minute of it. So, really the crowds aren't too much of an issue to me. I think if you really want a week night, then yes, work around the schedule that way. But I have to say, the sold out Christmas party this year seemed more crowded than the sold out Halloween one, and we still had a great time. No wait on rides, and sometimes let you stay on and ride again! The Halloween party is my favorite thing at Disney I think....it's so neat to see the special stuff! We've been two years in a row and plan to go every time we can! I really couldn't tell the difference from the first year (not sold out) and the second year (WAS sold out). So, I don't think it will really be a problem either way.

we went the first Sunday it was offered last year, and the crowds weren't bad at all.

We went on the first Friday 2 years ago and during the middle of the week last year and our first trip was better. I think as October moves along the crowds get a little bigger.

In 2004 we did the first one on October 1st which was a Friday. It was truly wonderful. The crowds were non-existent. At one point my family and I were walking through Fantasyland. There was not 1, not 1, single other guest to be seen no matter which way we turned. It was truly amazing. I had never been in Fantasyland alone-- this was at about 6:55pm. All the attractions were open and ready to go, and the trick-or-treat CM's were in place near IASW. The entire night was really a joy.

We had been to the sold-out 10/31 in 2003. We had a great time, but this was better. I'm hoping to go early in the month again this year.

I was also there on the 1st Friday in 04, and the crowds were not bad at all. I really don't mind going to the early special events because you can enjoy everything and not fight the crowds.
We walked right on HM.

I went to the first Sunday in October in 2003 and it wasn't crowded at all. Crowds get bigger closer to Halloween.

Thanks! It looks like I should not worry about the first of the month! It is so wonderful to get answers!!!

so if we are planning to go to one of the first few parties would we have a problem getting tickets when we get there???

How reliable are these dates...We want to book airfare while it's still reasonable. I called Disney and they just say "select dates in October". Anyone??

As long as you're there at least 4 or 5 days, you'll surely hit at least one Hallloween party going on.

We can only go over a weekend plus one day, so it's Thursday night arrival - Sunday afternoon departure or Friday night arrival - Monday afternoon departure...That's our dilemma!

hey mplsdad where did you take that picture of your boy with plekly??? i love it...i must have one with my kids....

The party is becoming very, very popular. If it's something you really want to do then I'd pre-purchase the tickets. I know it's rare for an early in the month party to sell out (this past year one of the one's over Columbus Day weekend was a last minute sell out). However, you just never know. I know there were a few Diser's who waited until their arrival to get tickets for the sold out party. They waited because they generally don't sell out early in the month. They were pretty disappointed.
So, if it's top priority then buy the tickets as soon as your dates are confirmed and they're on sale.

Thanks! There is a statue near the Merchants of Venus store on the way from Fantasyland into Tomorrowland. It's at the end of a large cement planter near Autopia...My DS loves Lilo and Stitch so this is one of my favorite pics from last summer!
