Another miles plus money query

I am looking at dates for dec 10th or 11th coming back on 24th or 25th december from manchester.M+M is saying no flights but when I imput gatwick there are flights for £975 for 2 aduts and a child.I know last year I kept track of the m+m flights right up to december and there loads of them availible.I have never looked this early before and am beginnig to panic that they may have sold them all already.The normal flight prices are coming up with loads of availibility.Does anyone know if them+m are relased at different stages or will they have all gone? Strange as last year loads coming up even in december.I may have to settle for gatwick although a long drive after a long flight back to the midlands

There is no fixed rules for M+M, a lot of folk think they have dropped in value recently.
There are exceptions.
Simplest explanation is VA have not seen the need to release them yet, probably because its so far away and initial sales are OK.
It's a gamble as to whether M+M will save you anything when they become available, its dependant on "normal" sales.
As you say you are looking earlier than last year, maybe that's the issue, but there are no fixed rules as to M+M.

There is availabilty 9th-24th from manchester.
The dates you want are low season, full price is only about £1,100 for 3 of you so already highly discounted so Miles and money not going to save you much.
Have you lots of miles? looks like your saving will be around £200 but you will lose 6,000 miles and not be able to claim the 16,000+ for the Dec trip.
Personally I would be tempted to pay full price and gain 22,000 miles as that is enough for a free flight to Florida one way, Exactly what I have done for August Peak time 20,000 miles and £101 tax. then returning with BMI our preferred carriers for £235 total cost for August 1st-25th £336.
I would say its still early for Miles and Money if thats the way you want to do it, just keep checking twice a day. I think they will release them.

Thanks guys.Wayne-Between me and DH we have 28000 miles and due to studies probably won't go again till 2010 so using the miles +money may save us approx £200 overall-not much but it will go towards spending.I will keep track and if it looks ok or goes down to £289 like last novemebr I will book.Hoping to pay about £950.

Agree £200 or even better $400 goes a long way out there, just keep looking every day, hopefully they will come down.
I just don't like using miles for such a small saving because it usually means booking so far out off season prices will come down and end up being cheaper in a few months and wasted your miles.
It happened to us going to LAX, bought M&M £390 each+2000 miles (full price £450) then a few month later £375 in sale full price.
You win some you lose some.
