I have read so many posts and just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Please chime in with insight/advice!

My family of 7 has a trip planned for late July. Last week my parents & my brother's family (7 more people) decided they are joining us for two days of our trip. My mom made their room reservations (2 separate rooms). Their "stuff" is all under her name.

This afternoon we tried to connect on MDE so that I can make some ADRs... and eventually FPs. However, when I tried to add them using her two resort confirmation numbers, almost all the invitations were emailed to me. The only one my mom received was the one for HER, which she accepted. I made a lunch ADR at Be Our Guest, though, and all 14 names were listed and able to be added to that reservation.

However, when I look at my Friends & Family list, it says "invitation pending" for everybody except my own family + my mom. :crazy2: Should I be concerned about this?? Any idea what I did wrong, or how I could fix it?

I have a pending invitation because my son has not created a MDE account. His girlfriend made an account, I told her to check her email for invitation to join. Once she accepted, she was no longer pending. You will need to know the birthday and email of each person to request.

Okay... I did something very wrong then. No one besides my mom has entered an email on MDE. Everyone in their party is one of her "guests". My dad doesn't even have an email address. :rolleyes1 My nieces and nephew are under 12. What did I do wrong?

I believe when we connected to each other, there was something about having to invite each separate person on the list to share plans. So mom has to invite you to plan and share with all seven people on her account. And you have to invite her with all seven on your account. I think. I do know for a fact if none of the rest of this post made sense is that not everyone needs an email. We have three linked mde accounts with 8 people scattered across them. 3 are kids without emails and 2 are adults with no drive to make an mde account:)
You shouldn't need their resort confirmation numbers, this should all be happening on the family and friends part of mde. Just in case you were in the wrong spot. Worst case, Disney IT is fairly good at straightening out wayside mde issues. There is a number to call for them on the plans page of mde where your group you are planning with is listed.

This is a common mess unfortunately. What you need your mom to do is log into MDE on a computer. At the top, it will say “welcome, mom!” and there should be a number in a red box. These are her notifications. If she clicks the red box, your invites to her and people controlled by her will show up there. She can accept them from there. She’ll have to go through them one by one, but that should work.

Oh, and I often get a weird error message after I accept the first one, but I just hit “back” to go back to the main Disney page and the acceptance has gone through.

Thank you so much! I have never been so stumped by something MDE-related.

I wanted to add--if you still have issues, don't hesitate to call Disney. I have had to call them twice in the past year and was immediately connected and my issues quickly resolved. One of the times I was on a school bus with our band and in a panic having issues adding kids to MDE for fast passes and was surprised at how patient they were and quickly resolved my issue.

I'm just going to update this, in case someone else with the same issue does a search here. My mom's notification was only for her account, and she had no notifications for any of her guests. We still don't understand it, and Disney IT didn't seem to either. However, the phone call I had with Disney IT was very helpful, and she was able to resolve the issue for me very quickly. Everyone is now on my friends & family list. Phew! My advice: just call. It wasn't nearly as painful as other calls I've made to Disney! :)

Honestly the couple times I've called IT, it's been a breeze and they knew exactly what the issue was (probably because they were issues that happen so many times, they know how to fix the problem...maybe Disney should spend the money to prevent the problem)
