Another Magic Band Question cause i'm lazy.

We are going to Disney the first weekend of March and buying APs staying off site. We live fairly close (2.5 hr drive) and plan on getting out money's worth as we have in the past for the APs. Here's my Magic Band question because I'm too lazy to search for the answer. (At least I'm honest)

We plan on returning first week of April but want to stay the first Friday and Saturday night onsite. Will the magic bands work the next week when we are staying offsite or do they just work when you are staying onsite even though you have APs?

I'm assuming you mean for FP+? They will work, so long as you have tickets connected to the account that are valid for the number of days you want to schedule FP+ for. For example, if you connect an 8 day ticket to your account, you can arrange FP+ for 8 days starting with your check in date.

Now, if you mean for charging privileges, I would assume it would not work once you check out.

Lol :thumbsup: To the OP, no one really knows, but right now, after you stay on site, the full functionality of MDE is available to schedule FP.

I was really asking for using the magic bands for admission to the parks. Also without an actual hotel reservation can you schedule FP+ in advance such as if we stayed in a resort Friday and Saturday night but off site the next week could we schedule FP+ for Wednesday on Tuesday?

As of today, yes. Tomorrow, maybe not. Reports are that Disney is trying to crack down on exactly what you are thinking, but they are just speculation at the moment.

yes, you can use them for fp+ reservations. My situation is very similar and this works for me.

I don't think you will have received the magic bands for the April onsite stay before the March trip. If you don't have the bands yet, you can't use them.

We received our first set of bands last August as part of a test while staying at Pop Century. We are also AP holders and renewed online after receiving those first bands in August. The renewal automatically linked to our existing bands. We have been able to make FastPass+ ressies since receiving original bands. We have done several one night stays since then. Disney issues new bands with each onsite stay (for now anyway). If you don't bother to customize the bands prior to your trip they will have the gray ones waiting for you at check in. All of my bands are still active. I can make Fastpass+ ressies even if I don't have a onsite reservation. They link our onsite room key to whatever band we bring with us.
