Do you have any trouble with the footrest being too tall for your larger child?

I have a dd who si 3 y 8 months, and weights about 39 lbs and we are planning on buying a Maclaren stroller for her.

We have a Combi stroller, but it is really hard to push with dd sitting in it, and we have found that the footrest is too small and too tall, so whenever she falls asleep, her feet dangle over the wheels and the soles of her shoes will rub the wheels stopping the stroller.

We live in Mexico and Maclaren strollers aren´t sold here, so I can´t try one with dd before I buy. I might go to NYC with my dd, but want to order the stroller via internet so it will be waiting for us there. I just don´t want to end up with another useless stroller.

We used to have a Chicco Caddy which we loved, but dd is over the weight limit by now.

TIA

I have a Maclaren Quest and DD 3.5 is 32 pounds 39". She fits in it fine and there's plenty of room for her to grow. It holds up to 55 pounds. It also has the extended leg thing so when she sleeps she can put her legs out a little bit. Can you buy off Ebay? I got mine from an Ebay store and it cost about $30 less than if I had gone to BRU (including the shipping).

We bought our Maclaren Quest specifically for our 12/04 Disney trip. My DD's were 2 and 4 at the time-my then 4 yr old was very tall for her age and had outgrown all other strollers. The Maclaren held up to 55 lbs and I tested it out in our local Babies R' Us with her in it in case we needed to use it for her-2 yrs later she is 48.5" tall, 48 lbs, and almost 6 yrs old and she still fits great in it-my other DD will be 4 when we go and the Maclaren will be coming with us again.... wish I'd discovered this stroller long before our last Disney trip! I love it!!! :thumbsup2

Just received the Volo today that I ordered from Albee Baby Carriage. My foster DD is 4 1/2 weighs 35 lbs and is 42 inches. It pushes easily and fits her with plenty of more room to grow. I have a Graco Travel System that we brought for her first trip 2 years ago. Very bulky and a pain on the buses. I bought a Graco Disney Babies stroller last year, but it is too difficult to push her in it now. I wish I had bought the Volo last year. I debated renting a stroller for our trip in August but decided to put the money towards the Volo. She still has 20 more pounds until she outgrows it.

We have the Quest and the Triumph and both of the leg rest seem to do alright for DD#2 (she just turned 6). The seat on the Quest is a little deeper than the seat on the Triumph. This site usually has good prices on last year's models http://www.specialtybaby.com/strolfrommac.html
