OK..this is going to sound like a dumb question, especially after I just read the booklet that came with our Docs....but, here goes..

We are doing the WDW land/sea vacation....doing the land portion first. Since we are doing the land portion first, do I still need to put the Cruise line tags on our luggage prior to leaving home?? Or do we put them on after our land portion is done right before we leave for the ship??:boat:

The last time we did a land/sea('99), you put the tags on immediately as that is how the bags get from the airport to your resort room.

I am reading correctly, you are talking a land/sea package thru Disney including Disney transport to/from the resort? That being correct, you will have no luggage worries from the point you get off the plane forward. They will bring it right to your resort room, and pick it up for the transfer to your ship stateroom. And depending on airline, they might even check it for the trip home right at the port when you disembark. There will be clear instrustions each step of the way, look for a DCL representative they are looking for you when you arrive off the plane, and again when it's time to go to the ship.

We have transportation from Orlando to our resort via Mears
shuttle service. Will we still see a Dis Cruise rep at the airport?

Is this entirely booked thru Disney as the land/sea package, including transfers?

That is what needs to be clear here. If it is, you're covered all the way around as I said above.

If you booked the WDW stay as a separate item, then you are responsible for your luggage until you go to the ship.

Disney has been using Mears for this all along, but don't know if they are now saying they use Mears or not. They didn't back then, but that might have changed.

yup...book all thru a TA who booked it thru DCL

Ok, then you should be covered all the way around as long as the whole thing is thru DCL. They must be calling the transfers Mears now instead. Tag your checked luggage at home, and look for a DCL representative when you reach the main terminal at Orlando. They will be looking for you to give directions to catch your bus, and will answer questions. They will have a white clipboard with the DCL logo and wearing a nice smart outfit with a bright blue jacket. Kind of hard to miss.

Pardon the confusion, I havn't used the transfers in a while now.
