Another lawsuit pending for Dismissed IT Workers

I think their best argument is the "hostile working environment" ....however Disney deserves everything it gets with this case

I don't see this going very far. I can't imagine having to train your replacement is considered a hostile work environment. That happens at a lot of places that are downsizing or replacing employees with cheaper labor.

To the nationality discrimination it will be interesting if they win that. If that happens I bet you'll see the end of the H-1B visa.

One can only hope so. Disney seems to be one of the only ones ending up in the news about it, however, just about every major corporation has seriously abused the H-1B visa loophole and done exactly the same thing that Disney did.

I don't know, you take a $10M bonus and you're outsourcing IT jobs. I'm not sure how good I'd feel about myself every morning ...but I suppose that's why they pay him the big bucks. I'd love to know what business school instilled that philosophy in a person....

While I personally do not agree with Disney's decision, unfortunately this is the reality of the corporate world and many major corporations have done the same thing and do not get scrutinized by the media like Disney does. Disney tends to get extra special attention from the media, it has always been like this. Having grown up in the Orlando area, the local media has always loved to bash Disney at any chance remotely possible, whether its an unfortunate guest incident that could have happened at any theme park or any kind of workplace issue that a disgruntled CM decides to bring to the media rather than resolve with their employer, somehow it always makes headlines....

I'm not sure the talk is just coming from FL media. Just yesterday a talk show host in my area brought up this case when discussing the h1v visa. I also listen to Clark Howard (he talks about ways to save money etc)and he also mention Disney and what they did to the IT workers. I feel like they are making Disney the poster child for how this law hurt the IT workers.
