Another Latex Question

From researching I know Disney is relatively latex friendly (compared to most places I send my kiddo anyway) and so I haven't been too worried until today.

She was watching this video on how to make Irish Soda Bread and it looks like the Disney chef is wearing latex gloves. She started freaking out that she isn't going to be able to eat anything at Disney.

I worry about asking Disney itself, because when I initially called to ask about Magicbands, nobody could give me a straight answer if they were latex free or not. That is actually how I found DISboards in the first place! (Thanks for the info, btw!)

I would email special diets. Haven't most places done away with latex gloves in food services?

I have a daughter that is very allergic to latex and she has never had a problem with eating anything at Disney. We live 8 miles from Disney 6 months out of the year so she eats there a lot.

Always ask before hand. My DGF is severely allergic to latex and we found out that at Earl of Sandwich they use latex gloves. Otherwise, just a simple asking of questions to a CM or manager at the counter is all you need to do. They're all very friendly and know the answers needed ahead of time.

Thanks! I'll make sure we ask if we don't see the food being prepped ourselves. We plan to stay off property and mosty grab counter service at the parks. I keep telling her she needs to watch herself more closely at school (where the nurse put a latex bandaid on her last week) and worry less about a trip we're taking in seven freaking months.

If you are doing mostly counter service ,, then maybe take her food in with you?, we always take our own lunches.. and eat dinner there.. that might make her feel a bit safer.?

Taking our food is definitely a good option. I'm all for early breakfast in our hotel room and heading out with light snacks throughout the day. I'll float it and see how it goes. What a wonderful idea, thanks, nikkislaght!
