Another Keen question - for a toddler

I bought Keen Newport H2 sandals for both of my boys for our trip (we leave in 11 days :cool1:). My oldest is fine in his. My 2 year old got blisters on his little toes within 2 hours and the shoes look like they are pinching his feet - his feed are double wide. Is there another Keen or similar shoe that is better for wide feet? I'm so afraid we'll get down there and he'll be miserable because his feet hurt. He has crocs too, but doesn't seem to like them and he kicks them off very easily.

I know you said your son has crocs and I am not sure what crocs he has but crocs put out a sandal that has 2 velcro straps. one over the top of the foot and the other near the ankle. My DS2 had these last year and he loved them. He still tries to wear them but his feet are to big for them. Also, have you looked at Stride Rite? I am pretty sure they have wide sandals.

I just went to Zappos.com and there you can search for shoes/sandals by the width you want. I am not sure if you are familiar with Zappos but it is free shipping both ways.

I wouldn't recommend the Crocs for a 2 yr old at Disney. My DS wears them at home, but not there. I got my son a good pair of leather Stride Rite at that age that he really loved. (He even got them wet, and they still looked great!)

Did you buy the size that your two year is wearing now? We have bought Keens for DD for the last three summers and always buy a size or two larger in order to get a comfortable fit. This is the only shoe that we do this for so I do think it is just a thing with Keen's in particular. At one point the style of the Keen Newports switch as well to have adjustable on the top with a toggle like adult/older child's style. Personally, that is what I would try if you have not yet.

Another vote for Stride Rite sandals. My DS2 wears brown leather sandals in wide from there and he's never gotten a blister yet.

I did buy him a pair of wide at Payless and he had blisters within 1 day....I'll stick with Stride Rite.
