WHEN YOU MAKE YOUR RESERVATION DO THEY ASSIGN YOUR TABLE THEN OR DO THE PEOPLE WHO GET THERE THE EARLIEST FOR THE SHOW GET THE BETTER TABLES. I MADE RESERVATIONS TODAY BUT HE SAID NO ASSIGNMENTS IS THAT RIGHT? THANKS, LORI

i have always read that the table assignments are made according to when the reservation is made. you are not told of the table assignment. we have always booked way early and have been on the bottom floor. tables are assigned before the guests arrive. enjoy!

I think that's right, the tables aren't assigned at the time of the reservation, but a few days before the show. They will be assigned in order of reservation. Your table number is usually printed on your ticket, so when you pick up your ticket ( I think they're available 48 hours in advance of the show ), you can see where you're sitting. So given that you have a reserved table assigned to you before you even arrive, there really is no need to queue up 30 minutes before the doors open unless you just happen to like queuing up.

Laast time I was put on the upper floor, I asked to be on the bottom and they did accomadate me. I have already booked for November so I am hoping I get bottom seats. I am staying concierge so i pick up my tickets right at the concierge dask, WOO HOO, I can't wait till November is here. :D

How early do you think you have to book to get on the bottom floor? I know it would depend upon the time of year that you go. We are going in mid-August and I just booked a few weeks ago.

How early do you think you have to book to get on the bottom floor?

That depends on a number of factors, e.g., how many other people have already booked for that seating, when they/you book, the number in your party, etc. If you are going at a nonpeak time of year and opted for a later show, odds are in your favor for a better seat. If you are going at a peak time and booked the earliest seating, it's anyone's guess. It really all depends on how many people booked ahead of you and you won't know that until you have your seats when you arrive at HDD.

We've been doing HDD since 1993 and have loved it each and every time. We have only been seated "on the shelf" one time--our first visit. During that vacation, I was such a newbie I had no clue about booking dinner show reservations. We decided we wanted to do HDD in January for our June visit. I booked it and we were upstairs and a party of 4.

At that time you had to have a reservation in place with a confirmation number to book prior to 90 days I think. This was to permit the onsite guests first dibs at the show. Also, if you cancelled your hotel res, your HDD res cancelled too. Soon thereafter this was changed to an open window of 2 years for anyone. We took an unexpected trip in June 2001 and did make reservations for HDD the October before and had great seats. Then again, it was just post-911 and tourism was way down.

I've held reservations in the past generally 18-23 months in advance and have been in the first or second row each time.

A little bit of seating information we did discover, the table number is really a row and table number in that row. For example: table 12 is row 1 in front of the stage and table 2. This puts the party just to the right of the stairs and the numbers follow along those lines. We were seated at 12 last year and the people on the opposing side of the stairs at the stage said they had the same table every year for 5 years! They must book be booked two years in advance for each visit! :earseek:

With the exception of the first visit, we have always been nearly dead center stage and within the first three rows. Frankly, after having had the stageside seat, I'd rather have row 2 or 3. You can actually see better and you have more performer interaction. The "shelf" isn't so bad either from a visual point of view. I just didn't like the tall stools and tables.

Enjoy HDD, we just love it--as is evident. ::yes::

LK4,

I am thinking you have a pretty good shot at the ground floor seats. But you are going at a fairly busy time of the year. There really aren't any BAD seats unless you are way in the back under the balcony. Your kids look to be at about the right age where they will really enjoy the corny jokes!! The food is excellent!! You will have such a wonderful time!! Take a camera, 'cause there are lots of great photo ops there!

P.S. I live just "down the road" from youns' in Ellwood City, and I work up the road from youns' in Wexford. Howdy neighbor!!

Howdy Lynda! My brother and his family used to live in Ellwood City - on Jockey Moore Road. Nice to meet you!

Last year we booked in late Jan. for July 1st. 7:15pm show and were seated up against the stage right next to the piano. We had a party of 5. It was actually a table for 4 but they stuck a chair at the end of the table. Of course being the week of the 4th of July, it was busy and we still had excellent seats.

I hope this means I will have good seats for October 2005. I booked them this week. For me and DS. I am looking forward to seeing the show. I am sure I will enjoy it and I know DS will enjoy the food.

I am so looking forward to going to Disney!

hi, you mentioned that you were seated on high stools upstairs at the hoop de do. do the stools have backs to them? thanks in advance.

Yes, the stools have backs to them--they are tall bar stools--very heavy and sturdy. My husband and I are small--5'4" and I would have rather had my feet on the ground (LOL). They weren't uncomfortable and, in fact, necessary to provide the height advantage to see over the railing. Our children were, at the time, young (5 and 2)--they were able to see just fine in the stools.
