I own at VWL, I bought there because its my favorite, and if I want to travel around holidays or peak DVC time, I want the 11 month window. I hear people talk about the fact that the reason Vero is such a issue is its hard to use at WDW?? Is there something I'm not getting, say I bought a Vero, yes chances are is would be difficult to get holidays, peak times at WDW, but once my 7 month window opens up, if I wanted BCV and an OKW wanted BCV, arn't these viewed the same, and if its available I would get it?? Not sure if this is very clear, but a better way to say this is if at the 7 month window, aren't all the points bascially viewed the same????

You're correct that once you're at the 7 month mark, home resort is irrelevant for reservations. But here's how VB is different from OKW, for example. An OKW owner could make a reservation at his/her home resort at the 11 month mark. If they got the BCV ressie at 7 months, they'd cancel the OKW reservation.

But if the person was unable to get a BCV ressie at 7 months, they'd be able to use their OKW ressie and still stay onsite. If a VB owner did the same thing, they'd be 2 hours away from WDW.

Yes, at the 7 month window, all points are the same. If you can only reserve your DVC stay 7 months or less from you desired arrival date, then home resort doesn't matter.

FWIW, some posters maintain that it is not a good idea to buy VB (or HHI) if you mainly want to stay on site at WDW. Some posters say that the DVC sales people mislead potential buyers by saying that the 11 month window doesn't matter because most DVC stays are booked 6 (or less than 6) months from arrival. Those of us who want to stay during the more popular times, who want a GV at OKW or BWV, or a standard view at BWV do not agree with that. There are many times of the year that are hard (almost impossible) to get at WDW if you do not have the 11 month booking window.

Again, if you can't take advantage of the 11 month window anyway, then it really doesn't matter which resort you own. However, I would recommend that those thinking about buying VB also consider the higher dues vs the lower price in the purchase decision. VB is a beautiful place - and you'll have a hard time reserving one of the Beach Cottages without the 11 month booking window, but dues at VB are the highest of the DVC resorts. IMHO, that is likely to continue because of its ocean front location.

HTH.

Your correct but there are 2 variables. One is that the fees for VB are about $0.75 pp higher than OKW and the other is that if you own OKW you can reserve time at WDW then try to change at the 7 month window. With the ROFR and current pricing, the only time I think it's reasonable to buy VB is if you want to stay there a fair portion of the time, say at least 40-50% of the points you own there OR you want a BC periodically. I can't think of an exception otherwise, at least not from a cost standpoint.
