another hijacked thread!

And you're entitled to that opinion. Although I can picture the mods going around and making sure every thread stays on topic...
Why should the mods have to do this? Are we not adults?

Did the OP make an error? All I've seen is several people pointing out an error that another DISer made. Yes, it was a mistake but has this individual even had a chance to post the correct wording now?

I don't call this being rude so much as nagging.

If you're talking about my post, that was not the poster to whom I was referring. Pointing out someone's error in front of others is the height of rudeness. If a poster is truly that concerned with another's poster's spelling or grammar mistakes, why not send a PM?
While reading through the thread, I've found:
punctuation marks after phrases
improper use of verb tense
incorrect word usage and form
using a comma instead of a semicolon
run on sentences
improper use of commas
misspelled words
The irony is that some of these were mistakes were made by those who were correcting others.

I'll own it. These are usually my downfall. I am the comma Queen! However, I wouldn't be surprised to find I've also committed some of the other transgressions you've mentioned.

Pop quiz, hotshot. There's a bomb in a thread. Once the thread goes 50 miles an hour, the bomb is armed. If it drops below 50, it blows up. What do you do? What do you do?

:happytv:

Ah yes, the glass house of the grammar mavin. In a recent thread, I had a grammar mavin flame me for using slang. The grammar mavin even told me to get an education. Then, it happened.... The grammar mavin made an error. When I pointed it out, the grammar mavin disappeared! Imagine that.

Grammar flames on a message board are the self esteem tools of someone who has nothing else of use to add. Just about everyone here gets the message, the point of a response. Pointing out the missing apostrophe (what I do out of laziness), the missing period at the end of a paragraph et al.

Where grammar helps is when you write a book in a wall of text. People wont even try and read a wall of text in most cases. One of the few situations where composition technique is important. However, if you miss an apostrophe, or use your instead of youre, instead of you're.... it doesnt really matter. Nothing here is a professional composition. Lighten up, its supposed to be a fun message board.

Besides..... I aint gonna type that way just because someone QQ's

Don't go 50mph in the first place. If you don't go 50, the bomb doesn't arm, and therefore can't explode.:lmao:

BTW, I'm guessing this is a 'Speed' reference, but while I am familiar with the movie, I've only seen clips.

I saw this on Facebook and thought of this thread. :lmao:

I almost want to hang that in my classroom. As it is, I may just save it on my phone, to give myself a chuckle after I correct the exact same error for the millionth time.
