Another HHN question...

I have read them all, and I appreciate all the info. I do have a question though. I read somewhere that all HHN is, is a drunk fest, then all those drunk people get on the roads and drive home. Now that makes me nervous. I have finally convinced my SIL to go with me on Oct. 2, and now I am not sure I want to. I don't mind drinking, but I personally don't. I just worry about the "trouble" that could go on, especially leaving.

Any thoughts? TIA.

i'm entertainment at the event and i'm always worried everynight as i leave about drunk drivers on the roads. last year, i was one of the houses that closed the same time that hhn closed so i would take the back roads home. i always avoid I-4 because most drive I-4 or drive to I-drive (cause they're usually staying in that area). i take turkey lake/palm parkway down to Lake Buena Vista before i get on I-4 if i need to take it.

I understand your concerns but I've never had any issues with getting home safely.

Last year overheard a security officer telling another that the Sherrifs dept.are looking for over drinkers.They know who they are..

If there going to be stupid and get in there car and drive after overindulging,the deputy's will get them!!!Have no doubts about that!!!

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate the reassurance. We are staying off 192, so it is I-4 all the way. I guess I should just relax and plan to have a good time.

You are right, maybe they beef up security and police on the roads when they know there are going to be issues!

i actually live off of 192 and have been scoping out ways to get home quickly but safely during hhn. i think what i'm going to do is take turkey lake dr to SR 535 (it's the exact road of the highway but has 2 lights on in- you can actually see this road from I-4) and then get on the highway once i turn onto SR 535 (which is the same road that the downtown disney entrance to wdw is located). this way i avoid a bunch of people that are driving I-4 to two a few of the toll roads and some of the I-drive attractions.
