Previous posts have told you I can't and won't justify the price VA/BA want for our proposed 8 night cheap 'quicky' to orlando this october. Have just been quoted £450 each for non-direct flights and car hire - flying VA into Washington and then United/US Airways down to Tampa, where we want to stay a couple of nights.

Happy with the VA flights - would you do this? our first non-direct, but like I've said I really don't want to pay £920 that VA/BA want for a direct flight just because it's half-term (work in a school, can't take hols out of term time).

Shall I go for it . . . . what am I missing apart from the obvious connections (2 hrs before next flight). The other option was £420 with American Airlines LGW - Dallas, down to orlando, but prefer the VA option and Tampa.

Going out for a leaving do now, please someone help me make my mind up when I get back, or tell me all the pitfalls:confused3

I would go for this if the transfer window in Washington is suffucient :) Sounds like a good deal when compared to the cost of direct flights.

Throwing a curved ball - have you ever been to Washington DC? We absolutely loved it. Miles better than New York (which we also liked enough to visit more than once) and we would go back in a heartbeat. Definitely worth considering a couple of days there and it would eliminate the "2 hours between flights" issue.
