Another Great Trip! Picture added

Just wanted to let you guys know, we had another great trip to the happiest place on earth!

You will all be happy to know we did not encounter any nasty rude comments about holding up rides or delaying buses! And getting DH on some rides did cause a delay, but it was worth it!

DH (50 with MD) was able to do a few more rides this trip. We had BIL & SIL along for help, and thier daughter our 4 yo old niece along for more magic! How great it is to see WDW through her eyes!

DH was able to ride EE and he loved it! I didn't ride it, but DH, BIL & SIL thought it was great! Someone had to stay with DN, right?! ( Really I'm just way too chicken!)

The 1BR villa at The Beach Club had a roll-in shower & a jacuzzi! That was great!

The crowds were well.. what crowds? We had practically no lines or long waits anywhere. I think Soarin had the longest wait with 30 minutes. But we did have quite a mix of weather. Shorts & short sleeves the beginning of the trip, coats, hats & rain ponchos for most of the trip. I would say that the weather was a good trade off for the lack of crowds.

I really had every intention of riding EE. That was until I saw it! It looks really high! It just scared the heck out of me!!! I'm rather strange when it comes to roller coasters. I love R&R, but can't handle Space Mountain! Go figure!

My DH would ride anything that we could get him on! He was really excited to ride EE. He tried to get the CM's to let him stay on, so he could ride again but it was a no-go. A few years back with my daughter & son-in-law, he was able to ride R&R, he loved that! We tried this trip, but my BIL wasn't as good at moving DH & we decided to not chance it!

My niece told me this morning her favorite things in WDW was The Aladdin Carpet Ride & the Tiki Room! And of course, meeting all the Princesses!

That is my perfect roller coaster - not too high, not too fast and just when it gets to the point of you wanting to make it stop - it's over.

Hey Cindy, that's on my list for our trip in June! All of the trips that we've made and I've never gone on it. Have you been on Soarin'? That's another i want to try, but you can't see it in action until it's too late. I may have to send the kids in first see they can reveiw it for me.

Someone in my office that gets motion sick said she had to close her eyes one on soarin and she was ok. She said it's not like a simulator so if you close your eyes you don't have motion to still make you sick.

My to do list is Goofy, Soarin, Test Track, and maybe Splash Moutain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I really don't like roller coasters but I'm going to take a Bonine the motion sickness pill I take when we cruise that doesn't make me sleepy and prevents me from getting sea sick and this I know because on my first cruise to Alaska I didn't take them until it was to late and every cruise after that I take it before and have never got sick again even in rough seas.

For whatever reason the only amusement park ride I seem to be able to ride anymore is the scrambler now you think that would make me sick but it doesn't and Michaela loves it and I think Megan would also like it but I can't hike her put up on it.

We leave Friday around noon only going as far as Lexington then the next day either Macon or Valdosta. We have reservations at Crystal Palace at 5:00 so as long as we get there before that I don't care and the park is open until 11 that night.

I'm just glad we are going anywhere that that the temp is over -20

Michigan, hope you have a great trip. I did Soarin with no problems. Just close your eyes when it starts to get to you. My SIL has trouble with motion sickness & she was fine.

The ride cars are suspended from the ceiling in rows with a very large screen in front of the front row of seats. They are pretty stable while you are getting into them and they are too heavy for anyone to make them swing unexpectedly.
As your ride begins, the rows of ride cars move up and forward toward the blank screen. This happens in total darkness, so most people don't have much problem with that motion.
The rows of seats have gentle movements in response to the movie playing in front of you. Most of the movement is banking (slight turns) and tilting up or down. Since these movements are very well connected with the movie, your eyes and your body are not moving at odds with each other.
And, because they movements are small, closing your eyes if the motion gets to you tends to help a lot, as was already mentioned.

The times when the motion is most out of sinc with the movie is during the transitions, as Kathy mentioned for the night scenes. My youngest DD does not like the flying over the aircraft carrier part because there is too much motion (your row is tilted fairly forward during that point). I don't usually have motion sickness except for things that spin, but I have a little trouble with the beginning of the night scene where the movie is taking you over skyscrapers in one direction and you can see car lights going in the opposite direction (so they are coming toward you at the same time as you are going toward them).

The end of the movie is over Disneyland at night while the lighted Christmas parade is taking place. At the end of the fireworks, the rows of ride cars move down and back to where you started. This happens again in the dark, so it's less jarring.

My older DD's fiancee gets motion sickness pretty regualraly and he said he did not have a problem on Soarin'.
