Great show this week, I particularly enjoyed the Phone app segment and how they can be used during ones Disney vacation.
This past Food and Wine I found "Untapped" to be an extremely useful and fun phone app. The app enables one to check into Beers and Hard Ciders that you are enjoying, responsibly of course
It is also linked to Facebook and Twitter, you are also able to rate the beers or hard ciders, comment on the beers or hard ciders, take pictures and check into location. You earn fun badges such as "I Believe in IPA" , "Untapped Groupie" , "Brewery Loyalist", etc... Using the location feature you can also track your Drinking Buddies, Nearby Bars, Nearby Brewers, etc.. It also tracks how many beers or hard ciders you have checked into as well as how many distinct beers or hard ciders.
The really cool feature that I found particularly useful for Food and Wine last year was the ability to create a Wish List. I was able to go through the list of beers available at the F&W booths prior to my trip and add them to my Wish List, I was then able to refer to that list and track the beers by checking in, rating them on the spot and taking pictures.
It ended up being really fun because my DW and the friends we traveled with also used the app so it became a competition to see who could drink the most distinct beers during our trip
The only downside posting to Facebook all the time is it will give your friends and family the wrong impression haha My Mother replied to one of my check ins "Son, do we need to have a discussion about your drinking"
That is easily avoided by not checking the share to Twitter or Facebook while checking in.
