Another GAD Upgrade question.... completely confused!

I've been trying to figure out if the GAD promotion would work for us...

We are planning a 6 day trip in October. If we do the GAD upgrade, I understand that we can upgrade our tix in the park and it will save us $79 each (2 adults). But, if we want the meal plan, we need to have at least 1 day of tickets with our reservation, correct?

So, here are my calculations (again, for 2 adults)... Am I way off base?

1 day ticket for Meal Plan - $131 *2 = $262
5 day park hopper ($56 *5)*2 = $560
2 GAD base tickets ($79-2) = $158
Upgrade to GAD = ($560-$158) = $402
Total = (1 day for Meal Plan + Upgrade with GAD) = $664

But, if we just did a straight 6 day park hopper without the GAD it would be $566…

Is that right? The GAD upgrades don’t mix with the meal plans?

Thanks for your help!

a one day base ticket is $85 x 2 = $170

a 6 day park hopper is $302 x 2 = 604

your gad is worth roughly $85 x 2 = 170

You take the base tickets ($170) plus the gads (170) and subtract that from a 6 day park hopper (604) and you will pay an additional $264.

Your meal plan is counted seperately at $40 per person per night.

The problem with the previous math is that you can't combine two tickets and then upgrade (if I'm understanding this). So, you can upgrade one of the one-day tickets (the GAD one, after you've used to enter a park) and save the one-day ticket for future use if you want.

If it were me, and I already had the GAD voucher for a ticket, I'd skip the dining plan entirely. If your heart is set on the dining plan, you need to add a ticket to your package, but you can separate it from your room key and save it for later.

3- If your heart is set on the dining plan, you need to add a ticket to your package, but you can separate it from your room key and save it for later.

1- Correct.

2- Totally agree.
There is generally very little actual savings (sometimes it can even cost MORE) using the dining plan, anyway.

3- That'll work, too.
