Another FP and ADR question

The only time I could get a FP for SDD was 3:00, my ADR is for Ohana at 5:00. Is it possible to do both? I have checked daily to see if I could change either but nothing is available. I will keep checking up to and including the day we have the reservations. We'll be there for 5 days and the FP and ADR are the last day we are there. I'm hoping that can get on the ride before then and I'll just cancel the FP.

I don't care if I don't ride it as we will be going again in January but I know the rest of the family is looking forward to the ride.

If I go over to the Poly and check in, will they hold the reservation until the entire family is there?

I don't see why you have any trouble making it. You can enter the FP line at 2:55. Then bus, drive, or Uber.. You can probably be there by 4:30ish

Tap into the FP 5 minutes early, leave the park immediately after riding (not stopping to shop or anything) and I think you'll be okay. Note that if the ride is down earlier in the day and hundreds of people are using their FPs right when you're trying to ride, it may get backed up too much for this to work.

And no, the entire party needs to be there in order for them to check you in.

You should make it. They give you 15 minutes to be late. Even if you leave AK at 4 - which is the latest - you should make it. Maybe you go ahead and let them know everyone is coming.

That "15 minutes to be late" is just a Disney legend.
(It gets repeated and reposted so often that it has become a pseudo "fact.")

But, that's a good thing... as it is not "just" 15 minutes.

SO MANY guests are late to an ADR due to SO MANY possible delays at WDW that if they turned away
every guest and party for being 15 minutes late, there would be a lot of very unhappy (and upset) guests.
Consider the "scene" if a restaurant greeter said (to a party who has been stranded on a malfunctioning monorail
for 45 minutes,) "You are 22 minutes late. No soup for you!"

So, if you do happen to be late (I'd not want to be an HOUR late, but whatever) you will very likely get put back in the list and
be seated when a table becomes available.
All within reason, subject to the number of other waiting guests.

you should have plenty of time. Get to SDD about 5 minutes early.
at worst, the line should be no more than 15 minutes (just a guess as its too early to really know). the ride is under 5 minutes.
Plenty of time to get to the buses. Even waiting for a bus, it should be under 45 minutes to Poly. Worst case, you should be there by 4:30. Plenty of time to walk around and enjoy the area.
