Another FCC Question

I really should know the answer to this and I think I do but because there is so much info out there, I thought I'd ask for confirmation. ;)

We have an OBB booked for April. There are 4 of us, myself, DH, and 2 20 something DSs. Assuming that will be cancelled soon, ideally I would like to take the FCC and rebook for next February. The cost comes out comparable assuming we get the 25% extra. However, given where my kids are in life, we have no way of knowing if they will be able to go next year (I'm still not even 100% sure about this April, LOL!). So, if we take the FCC, rebook and then 1 or both of the kids end up not coming, would we lose their portion of the FCC? Thanks!

The credit is applied to each person's Castaway Club account. If they don't sail, then their credit will be reapplied to their account or you can request a refund of their portion of the "original" voyage fare. You cannot use their credits for you and your husband.

Each FCC credit it linked to a specific "person" I believe. So if you have a party of 4, and 2 people end up traveling, the 2 kids would still have FCC linked to their DCL accounts, and could ostensibly use them on a different cruise a different time before their expiration date - which I think is currently set for May 22 (but I can definitely see that being extended in the near future).

I believe the OBB is linked to the "cabin" so that discount would still apply to your new February cruise and any portion of that would not be allowed to roll over or follow the 2 kids who don't travel to a later cruise.

There is a ton of information out there and it's constantly changing, but this is my understanding of how it all works at the moment.

DCL allowed me to use FCC linked to just me to pay down a cruise cabin for myself and my son. It is only a 4 day cruise, so the FCC was too large for just my fare. They also allowed it to be used on my son‘s fare. I did not ask them to do that, they just did. And I was fine with it.

Seems the FCC rules are kinda fluid and may differ depending on the CM you get.

I also think there’s a difference between using YOUR FCC to cover you plus someone versus trying to use someone else’s FCC to cover you. What I mean by that is OP had a cruise booked for 4 people so each of those 4 get their own FCC. If person C and D decide not to go, person A and B can’t take their credit and use it. That’s different than your scenario - where you’re person A and you have a credit and you’re using your own credit that was assigned to you to cover yourself plus your son. At least that’s how I’m reading it.
