Another Fantasmic PS question

Hi

I am still tossing up whether or not to do the Fantasmic dessert seating for our trip next month. If I decide to do it I will need to buy the tickets tomorrow.

What I was wondering is firstly, is there only 3 rows? Are the rows tiered? See the main reason I am considering it is not for the dessert or even the PS so much but for the simple fact that I don't want to wait around to stake out a spot.

I understand that to get a front row seat you still need to stake out a spot in the front of the queue hours before but I don't want to do that. So, if I have a booking can I just rock up 5 mins before it starts and get a seat? I know it won't be a front row one, but will it be any good? If we get a back row seat can the kids stand on the chair if they need to?

I suppose what my question boils down to is, is it worth paying all that money to get the dessert seating if I am not prepared to stand in line to get a front row seat?

xx

We did the dessert seating in August. We got in line at 7:30 for the later showing and got second row seats and could see just great. the third row is further back so if you are in the back the row I believe they will let you stand. Overall, it was an incredible experience and one that I would recommend.

I'm glad you asked this question as I was wondering the same thing. I wish they would allocate seats when you booked. Oh well.

when it was on the balcony they assigned seats in the order in which you made your reservation....
I wish they still did the same thing.

half the reason for doing the seated dessert viewing is not having to stand around for hours to stake out your territory...now you stand around in line for hours to stake out your $$$ seat :(

It is definitely worth doing it to avoid waiting around. We have done this many times now, have been seated in many different spots, and can always see fine.

I agree it would be smarter to assign sets on booking...but you only need to send one member of your party to check in , and the worst that can happen if you are late is that you A) don't get front row seats, which is no big deal, or B) may end up being split up (but again, this depends on your party size)

I'd also like to add how nice it was leaving and not having to come back for over an hour. We actually went over to California Adventure, watched the light parade and hopped on screamin with our FPs before going back to a reserved seat and being served drinks :) ah. it was nice.

So hypothetically, if I was to get to the reserved seating just before it started and got the worst seats of all of them, would they still be good seats or would they be crap seats?

Thanks this helps we are booking our res. this AM for our trip on the 17th = YEAH YEAH

Mom and I ust did the dessert seating just this past Sunday for the 10:30 show(we bought the tickets that day at Town Hall). I usually get in line at 6 and stand there until 8 to get front row center seats, but this time my feet were really bothering me and I said no way. Mom and I had found a bench on Mainstreet about 7:00 to watch the fireworks, and she held it while I headed over and got in line about 7:45. The line was long, but I was only the 2nd or 3rd person there for the 10:30 show, so I got 2nd row center seats. I don't think any of the seats are bad seats. And the seats are moveable, so if there is someone tall in front of you, you can move your chair over to see between people. I've done the seats quite a few times and was always happy I did it. Especially now with the new dragon! So awesome!

OK, I am confused. You had to stand in line starting at 7:45 until 10:30? So paying for the reservation doesn't allow for just showing up at 10:15 and sitting down wherever is left?

We haven't been in a looooong time, but are going soon and I'm thinking of booking this. We always seemed to miss Fantasmic! in the past, but now that the kids are bigger, perhaps we'll get to see it. Of course, we have the ToT party and the fireworks to worry about. I was hoping to just book the 10:30 and go over to the viewing area after we watch the fireworks (we have the preferred viewing area for these with the Happiest Haunts tour from what I've read).

No, you stand in line for seat assignment which starts at 8 PM. Then you can leave until whenever your show time is, in pikaboo's case 10.30 PM.

If you show up at 10.15 PM indeed you'd get to sit down in whatever seat that wasn't assigned.

Ah. Got it.
Thanks! I feel like a newbie all over again.:rotfl:
