WHen you 'unfriend' someone, do they get a notification? It's nothing personal, but some people post nothing but religious and/or political propoganda and it's getting tiresome; however, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Alternatively, is there a way to block their posts from showing up on my news feed?

You can unfriend someone without them being told. You can also hide their postings while still being their friends. When you see the post, hold the mouse over it, and in the corner hide will appear, click that, and viola, no more of the annoying over-poster.

They don't get a notification but they may notice they aren't getting any updates from your account and check. You can block their content by hovering over one of their posts and selecting the "block" option that will show up.

No, they won't get a notification that you unfriended them. You will just no longer show up in their list of friends and their friend count will decrease by 1.

You can hide them as well if you want to keep them as friends but not see their rantings. On your wall to the right of their post move your cursor over and you should see a 'hide' show up. Click on it.

Yes, I've got most of my fb "friends" hidden because of the drivel they post! Like the others said, hover to the right of their post and then select hide. You can do this for all the games and sent stuff on there, too. By just hiding them, you can go look at their stuff anytime you want, and no one gets their feelings hurt.

How do you actually unfriend someone? I found a remove connections to this person. Is that unfriending? I have cleaning to do!

Another question: What if you're friends with someone and then go to Block so the person cannot even find you on FB. Does this unfriend you from the person at the same time?

I have been unfriended, and I don't know it until I realize I have not seen any updates form them, then I look at my friends list and see they are gone.

One of the things that hiding a person's posts from your feed does not do, apparently, is prevent other people who see things posted on your wall from seeing that person's posts. Removing the connection ("unfriending") and restricting posts on your wall to just your friends is the only way to assure that.

I've hidden a lot of people's post from my views, no one I care about seeing my information, but certain people like the girl from work who posts what she's doing every hour of the day, or that guy who keeps on posting religious messages several times a day.
