What gets me is that this move that is supposed to help us control our own privacy actually takes some of our privacy away.
I use Facebook just for close family and friends. I don't have any desire to have random people from my past "finding" me. I liked the fact that I could put a picture of my kids as my profile pic and not have that visible to everyone, and I liked having my friends list only available to friends.
Now, you can't make your profile pic and friends lists private; they are ALWAYS available to everyone no matter what. I don't know how this helps us control our privacy!
If I'm wrong on this and someone can figure out a way to keep your profile pic and friends list private, let me know!
I think you're right about this. I was playing around w/Facebook to see the changes and I don't think there's any way for you to hide your profile pic, your friend list, and your "pages" (stuff you're a fan of) and groups. Before the change, I was able to hide these features from non-friends.
