With Close to My Heart, they have 2 different levels of paper packs - Level 1 and Level 2.
Level 1 paper is to allow you to put your pages together quickly and easily. You have a patterned piece of paper that already has a "layout" built in, so with the included stckers, you can just add pictures and some stickers and quickly finish. (one Level 1 paper pack has the supplies to generally put together 2 2-page layouts - 8 pieces of paper total plus 2 sheets of stickers(so 4 12 x 12 scrapbook pages). Not bad for the clearance price of $4.
Level 2 is patterned (on both sides) and solid papers. You can design your own layout, and also they sell matching embelishments - ribbons, buttons, stamps, stickers, brads and more. (one Level 2 paper pack has 12 patterned pages and 10 solid color pages (usually 2 each of 3 coordianting colors, and 4 white pages). I can normally put together at least 3 2-page layouts out of each Level 2 paperpack. Also, with the clearance price, including the stickers, works out to about $1.35 per 12x12 page.
Close to My Heart become addicting though. My girlfirends all use Close to My Heart products, and after 1 weekend scrapbooking with them about 3 years ago, I was converted and now must of my scrapbook budget goes to Close to My Heart (also, those weekends have MADE me buy a Cricut, endless cartridges, and who know what else). I tell my husband how inexpesive my weekend girlfriend trips are, but i you add on all the things I feel I NEED to have after those trips, the cost goes up significantly.
