I am looking at an auction that only excepts xoom or Western Union for payment. Has anyone used either of these before? I have only used paypal. I am a little leary of using something differnt.

Never seen and auction that only accepts western Union and never heard of xoom before. I do know that there are E-bay scams out there that try to use Western Union but you never get the money Maybe you won't get the item. no recourse through WU. Can you post a link?

If you're not comfortable, don't bid. Unless this is a one of a kind item, another will come along eventually.

I just looked at this listing and I noticed that NOWHERE in the listing does it state EXACTLY what you would be bidding on. Looks like a scam to me and I sell alot on ebay (I'm a powerseller) I did email them to ask what EXACTLY is included in this auction. I will post back if I hear from them. If it doesn't feel right, go with your gut instinct!

Thanks for your help. I think this must be a scam. If it is too good to be true, it usually is!

I wouldn't bid on it just for the fact that the SHIPPING IS $30!!!! :earseek:

What you are bidding on is tyhe list of 35 DVD's. I change my answer. bid if you want. I just might be bidding too!

It seems like a great deal, BUT it doesn't state the kind of DVD. There are a couple different kinds. Some can only be played on North American DVD players the have a specific code on the dvd...

UGH I can't figure out how to better explain it.

And with western union, I know that you can easily scam with them..

JMO but I would stay clear of that auction...

It says on the bottom of the auction
"DESCRIPTION
On auction is a well-maintained set of DVDs. They are pre-viewed but are in excellent condition. The DVDs are fully compatible with US and Canadian DVD players."

Also, I checked out the Xoom.com for payment and it looks completely trustworthy!

Maybe it will steer a lot of people away and I can get it for a great price!

I did a little researching for xoom.com and found out you can pay through paypal. xoom and paypal are partners. I guess that makes me a little less leary.

I wouldn't bid on it. Phillipines seller with feedback of 6. These could be copies of DVDs. It says nothing about cases, etc. I would be asking a lot of ??? first if you do decide to bid. $30.00 for 35 DVD probably isn't outrageous from the Phillipines. Unless it's DVDs with no cases and copies. I have heard of people getting copies before and even though it's illegal it happens.

The people who have already bought DVD's from the seller said they were happy.
