Ok, Ladies - just a couple more weeks now and we'll be there. HOW are we going to identify ourselves to each other?? We arrive on the first.

Oh my goodness, jay! Congratulations on baby #4! I hope you feel great during your trip, sounds like the extra down time will definately be a good thing for you. If your boys are anything like mine, they will have almost as much fun in the resort pool as they do in the parks. I also think cancelling your early morning ADRs is a good idea - you will probably be tired and need the extra rest.

A new baby, that is so exciting!!
It most assuredly will be needed!! I think they will love the pool time. I mean, come on, what little boy doesn't?! ;) :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for the congratulations! It was great to log on and see that! Also my ticker, did anyone notice my ticker? *ha ha ha* TEN DAYS AND COUNTING!!!

Hi, Jay!!!

Me again! I am TOOOOOOO excited for you all. :goodvibes A new baby, a great trip, wonderful family already, What more could a girl want?? :cloud9: :grouphug:

Blessings to you & your family.

Barb
Thanks Barb! What more could a girl want? Well, how about a permanent suite in the castle? :wizard: Other then that, I think I will refrain from asking for more! ;)

Yup, I'll be there too from Sept 1 - 9!

Congrats on the baby, Jay! You "might" want to think about renting an ecv . . . save your strength for the fun stuff!

I've done the lobby tour and several of the interactive "talks" by native cast members. The lobby tour is more interesting to adults, but the other activities will be enjoyed by folks of all ages. They also have pool games for the kids - actually a whole schedule of activities - you could really spend all day at the resort and barely go to the parks at all.

My dh has been under the weather this summer, so we're going to be taking it slow too.

Can't wait to meet you in person!
I am sorry to hear about your dh. It's no fun to feel down. Health issues are just stressful all the way around.

About the ECV...I am on the fence with that. I don't wanna be one of those people posted about later on "I saw this fat woman on an ECV and then she just got off and walked" :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: Those threads are not so nice. However, I know I will need help to make it at least some of the time. So...flip flop, flip flop, I feel like a fish out of water! ;)

An ecv would be a GREAT idea, Jay. I second that motion.:moped:
I know it would on the left side of my head...it's that darn emotional right side that is fighting it! ha ha ha

WOW!!!! Congratulations on #4! :goodvibes I know, I know, 3 boys the 4th has GOT to be a girl! :confused3 We'll just have to way & see! We know one thing for sure....the child will love Disney!! ;) Jay, I just noticed that our "tickers" to Christmas trips are exactly the same! hmmmm, maybe we could arrange a small meet...just to say hi! :) I'll be arriving 11/25 @ BWV. PM me & we'll try to set it up! Since I know how much you love the CR, you'll enjoy "extra" trip news! My brother just found out he has a conference in September at the CR. Guess who's going to meet him there???? It's just for a weekend trip, but I couldn't pass it up! This will be my first time there! Very excited! :woohoo:
HAVE FUN AT THE CR! I do so love that place! About our second trip...with this pregnancy, I am not so sure I will be allowed to do it. HOWEVER, I am not canceling just yet! :upsidedow  Instead I am pestering my doctor :rolleyes1 and hoping that I will be in shape to go come November!!:hourglass If I do make it, I would love to do a DIS meet! I am so excited to meet other DISers!

Ok, Ladies - just a couple more weeks now and we'll be there. HOW are we going to identify ourselves to each other?? We arrive on the first.
Linda, do you have any good ideas? I am not the best person with DIS meets. Twice I have met a DISer (or group of) and twice I have been too hyper to even remember their names (they were random bumpings). I guess you could say I am a DIS groupie! :yay: :cool2:

I have been MIA for a few weeks because my dad had a heart attack. After which, he needed open heart surgery. He lives in another state so we have been "not home" more then home trying to make sure he is okay. As of right now, he is stable, but it appears he did suffer a stroke after the surgery. SO...his recovery has been a very slow process. He still has yet to fully "wake up" after surgery and he had it last Tuesday.

I was all set to cancel our Sept. trip when three of the most unlikely people convinced me I had to go.

The first (and most surprising in my books) was my very own dh (aka the Disney Grump). He pointed out to me that I NEED a vacation now more then ever and I am no good to myself, the baby or my dad if I am so stressed out that I cannot function. Now, let me tell you, I know it must have just about kicked his tail into tomorrow to beg me to take a Disney vacation. ;) :lmao: He is NOT ever been known for that before. He also pointed out I cannot do anything more for my dad here at home (states away from him) then I could a few more states away at WDW. And Orlando has airplanes too.

The second was my doctor. At my appointment yesterday he told me he had a prescription for me, he wrote it down (I am thinking more prenatal vitamins or something) and he hands me his little RX sheet and it says GO ON VACATION AND DESTRESS!!!! He then points out to me that I am not doing the baby any good nor myself any good by sitting around fretting over a situation I cannot change and that he thinks it would do me a world of good to just relax for a bit.

The third (and most important by far) was that before my dad went into surgery, he made me promise to go to WDW no matter what. He told me not to disappoint his grandchildren and cancel their WDW time no matter what happens. Now, I don't think he was thinking of this possibility ( of him being semiconcious) as the vacation approached...however, he did ask me not to cancel on his behalf.

SO...with the Disney Grump (aka dh) saying we "NEED" to go, with my doctor ordering me to go and with my dad having made me promise to go...

I am still going to go. However, I am reserving the right to leave part way through the vacation if I get too worried or if something changes with my dad.

Any extra prayers or pixie dust :wizard: you have laying around would be VERY appreciated!!

So sorry to hear about your dad. There's no way you will not worry about him, but you must make sure to take care of yourself. Go on your vacation. As you stated, you can always change your plans depending on the situation and/or your emotions. More pixie dust & prayers coming your way! pixiedust: pixiedust:  :grouphug:

What a mix of emotions!!! :faint: I just caught up with your TR and I was so excited to hear about baby #4  , and then I read about your poor dad! :sad1: I'm really sorry! I agree with your DH, doctor, and dad. You need to get away for awhile, and WDW is the perfect place. Please take it easy and try to relax while you're there. Real life will still be waiting for you when you get home. Your dad will be OK. It may take some time, but he'll recover. You'll see. Thanks for sharing this with us. You know we all care about you! :grouphug:

Sending Hugs and Pixie Dust!!! pixiedust:

Dusting your Dad, Jay. He will be in my prayers.

As a person closer to your dad's age than to yours let me say, I totally agree with him, your dh and your doc. It doesn't do anyone any good to sit around and fret over someone who's ill - LEAST of all - the person who's ill.

I have pm'd you my real name and cell phone number. IF you know a person's real name first and last, even if you don't know their resort, (unless its a common name like john jones) you can call the Disney operater and ask to be connected to them and they will put you through to their room. You don't need to worry about your anonimity - the operator does not give out the room number.

If you stumble over me in the lobby or a park - I have grey hair, an ecv, and most likely a Teddy Bear named Dimples in tow. And a husband. who may also have his bear OC. (OC stands for out of control skier) Also got some lime green mickey heads, but haven't done anything with them yet.

Hope all stays well with you and yours and we see you SATURDAY WEEK! WOO HOO!

I'm only on page 9, but had to tell you that I just love this report! Can't wait to read more!!

eta: I finished and first I am so sorry about your dad! He will be in my prayers. I'm glad you are still going, though. Disney is therapy for all things.
Second - CONGRATS about baby number 4!! How fabulous! I'm sooo happy for you!!!

Thank you guys for all of the prayers and pixie dust and good thoughts. I KNOW those help. My dad is doing a bit better (his kidney's are now functioning on their own with no assistance from drugs, his vitals are all steady, strong and stable with no help and he is able to stay "awake" for minutes at a time vs. seconds. So it's an improved state of affairs right now...just not as improved as I would like...but slow improvement is much better then a decline! I am so thankful for the kind words that have been posted. I have been reading them. It's just been too emotional to post. Hopefully things are on a bit of an upswing though!!

As far as the trip, it is still on.:wizard: I am excited and anxious all at the same time. But in the end, the total relaxation and happiness that I know await us at WDW is loudly calling my name!! :wizard: Now more then ever, our family needs that special brand of magic found at WDW to lift our spirits and help us leave the stress behind.

This Thursday night we pull out of our driveway and on to the road that leads to the happiest place on earth! I am counting the minutes!!:hourglass

Jay, this trip, more than any before, we will be thinking about you. :grouphug: All of us will be sending thoughts, prayers & pixie dust to you & your family wishing you a relaxing, happy & magical :wizard: time away! Enjoy!

God bless!

So glad you dad is doing better, Jay! :flower3:

Have a SAFE drive down & a GREAT TIME!!! I will be thinking of you all! :grouphug:

(Here's hoping there are no "added guests" on your overnight stay for the drive! :scared1: :rotfl: )

Jay, I know that you're already gone, but I wanted to bump this back up to the top because I'm thinking about you! I hope you are having a good, relaxing time in WDW. I can't wait to hear about your trip when you get home.

Waiting patiently, :hourglass

I MET JAY! She is beautiful and a lovely person besides, her hubby is a knock out and her kids are adorable and well behaved (Just exactly what you would expect, in fact, from reading her reports!)

The first day there, we went in Mara for lunch, and they were at the first table from the door. I recognized her husband, turned and there she was!

Another day, we were coming up from the car park and recognized the boys standing at the valet stand (she was around the corner).

The third day, Jay found me, but I'll leave it to her to tell you about that, since this is, after all, her trip report. I can't WAIT til she gets home and tells us about it all!

We are back!! Safely and happily we arrived home late last night.

We had a blast (of course, it was Disney). We found magic. We found laughter. And most importantly, we got to spend some downtime together. Which was VERY needed.

My dad is doing better. Not great but improving. Which is a GREAT thing in itself.

I do have two LARGE pet peeves. Both with leaving packages at resorts. First, LindaBabe left us a wonderful surprise at AKL. We didn't get it until check out morning! :( So I was never able to say thank you to Linda...but THANK YOU! *there's a funny story that will go along with this in the real trip report...but it is also a bummer that we didn't get a package left for us until days after it was left.

Second, the day I left I left a package for MouseTripper at her Disney resort the day we left and they have LOST it. GRRRRR. If they accept items and say they will make sure a guest gets them...then they should. This is an even bigger bummer. I am going to be calling her resort over this one. GRRR.

Okay, end of rant!! ;)

All else was WONDERFUL! I will begin a trip report within a day or two at most. I want to get it all down before anything starts to fade (and I selfishly want to extend the magic a bit longer). ;)

Thanks for all of the sweet well wishes and I just wanted you guys to know...you were MISSED! And, my report will start shortly!:goodvibes

:rainbow: WELCOME BACK!!! :rainbow:

I can't wait to read all about your trip!!! :yay: I missed you!!!

Take care,
Michelle

Jaycns, I don't know if you remember this but one day as you were getting on to the elevator at AKL, two "voluptuous" black women were getting off and one of them asked you if you posted on the D-I-S board!

I recognized your oldest son and your husband from the pictures in your last trip report - I'd recently read it. When I stepped off of the elevator and saw your son, I was stunned - It's like I'd been knowing him all my life. I told him "Hi" like he and I were old friends. Unfortunately, he didn't recognize me :confused3 and actually looked at me like I was kind of crazy!:rotfl: When I saw you and asked if you were on the D-I-S board and you said no, I was totally shocked. I kept telling my sister, "that woman is on the D-I-S board, I know she is. I'm not crazy. Actually, for a while I was beginning to doubt my own eyes.

I met with GlendaMax a few days later at the Mara and was telling her the story and she told me that I should have said the Dis-boards. That maybe you didn't recognize the name. I didn't realize I'd been calling the board the wrong thing all this time. :rolleyes1 I wonder what else I've been saying wrong. How do you pronouce taboulleh, chipotle, and the name Ian?

Anyway, when I got back home I looked up all of the trip report that I'd recently read and yep, I found yours. And when I saw your timeline and resort I knew it was you!

I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to officially meet. But I just want to relieve your mind... the crazy black lady in the elevator was none other than Sneezie!!!!
