Can anyone tell me when you are charged the annual fee? Is it when you first open your account or is it at the end of the year?

I got the premier card last June and I was charged the annual fee on my first statement. I assume I'll see it again on my next statement.

Sorry, yes, Premier. I signed up because they were offering a $200 statement credit when you spent X amount in the first three months. I have met my obligation and I received my credit on my first statement. My plan was to pay $150 towards our Disney vacation and the remainder offset the annual fee. But if the annual fee will not be charged until a year from now, I will go ahead and pay the full amount to Disney. I know in the grand scheme of things we are only talking about $50 but I was just curious if anyone could recall when they were charged for the annual fee. Thanks!

I could have sworn it was charged on the first statement after switching to the premier card, but I just went back to look and it didn't get charged until about 6 months after the switch. I don't know why it took them that long, not that I'm complaining. ;)

I think that we got ours charged to us pretty quickly after moving to the Premier card. I want to say it was the first month.

Agame - I would say that it has helped us quite a bit with spending money for souvenirs as well as the discount on merch, etc. We actually put almost all our charges on ours and then pay it off completely each month. However, as was discussed on another thread yesterday, there are other cards out there that offer higher reward percentages.

I can't remember exactly when, but not on first statement.
Several months, I think.

We use that card a lot and the rewards add up even faster with the Premier card.

They will charge it on the anniversary of the date you ORIGINALLY opened the card.

i had the premier card.
it charges you the $49 during your first statement.
each year it charges you during that same time.

after 11 months you ARE SUPPOSED TO be able to downgrade to the regular no fee card.

i decided in january that i would do that after having the premier card for several years.
i was told that i could not downgrade but no reason could be given.
after much back and forth for weeks they let me downgrade and then told me the reason i couldn't was because i did not have it for 11 months yet. when i said i had had it for 3 years they looked and just said "oh yeah you have hmmm i don't know why it wouldn't let you before".

not sure if you plan to downgrade after a period of time but if you're applying for it with the intention of downgrading at some point from my personal experience i would recommend that you just start out with the regular card.
