Hi, all. You folks are the most wonderful and knowledgeable group of people I've ever encountered! Thanks for all your wonderful help. Question: we are looking into booking our next trip at the end of August (next year). What would happen if the free dining happens during the time we're booked? Are we entitled to it if we've purchased a package? Would we have to rebook? Would we have had to have dining included in our plan? A lot of questions. but I'm just curious. Free dining saves a buck or two and I'd like to take advantage of it if we could...

Thanks, all!

:)

If you book a package at full rack rate and they subsequently offer the free dining promotion, you could call up and try to switch to available free dining inventory, if any remains. However, if you want to leave your options open, you should book directly through Disney, because otherwise there could be problems switching your reservation over.

I'm leaving in 6 days and I booked my trip in January. I booked directly through Disney and I am paying for the dining. I asked the person who booked the trip what happens if they offer it for free on those dates. She told me all I have to do is call and tell them I want the dining for free and I would get reimbursed for that portion of the trip.

However, like Bicker said, if this is the case, the sooner you find out about the free dining the better.

Good Luck.
