We returned on Dec. 21 from a wonderful but COLD trip to WDW!! Thank goodness we had checked the weather forecast and were prepared for the extremely cold snap that would hit while we were there. The crowd at MK was a 10 on Sat. night Dec. 11 which we attended only to see the castle lighting and parade and fireworks. After that the crowds were about a 5 the rest of the week. We always arrived just before opening and had little trouble getting around and riding popular rides. We also leave the parks by 1:00 or 2:00 PM and return by 5 or 6 to enjoy the lights. (The exception to this is Animal Kingdom which closed at 5:00.)

Our only disappointing day was Dec. 15 when we arrived at Hollywood studios and headed for TSM only to find it not running due to technical difficulties. It took a half hour to then obtain a fastpass. Next was Tower of Terror which was also down but waited in line for 30 min. then opened. Then we headed to RnR and it was down due to difficulties and could not yet get another fastpass. The Great Movie Ride went off without any problems and a minimum wait. We next tried the Backlot Tour which stopped for 10 min. just when it was time for the stunt show in the canyon. Afterward we headed for The Muppets 3-D which were NOT in 3-D because of technical difficulties!!
We also could not hear the new to us preshow thanks to the Brazilian tour group in the holding area with us. Boy, were they LOUD!
We finally headed to TSM and rode without any problems. We then exited the park and returned at 5 to catch the first Fantasmic show of the night which was great and to see the Osbourne Lights. That night went well, and the weather cooperated and had warmed up just a bit.

The highlight of this trip was our viewing of the Saints' games at the ESPN Club on both Dec.12 and 19. It is definitely more fun when your team wins, but the atmosphere was fabulous. We had been there before for a snack and to shop but never to watch a whole game. If you are a sports fan this is a must do in our book!

Another highlight was meeting Dave the "CastleGuy" (dalovett) and his castle really is something to see! Also had MK199 in the 1400 loop with us but could never catch anyone at home when we passed.

Thanks for reading and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Love college football and WDW!
