Another DDP question

Here is a senario that I'm planning for but might not happen and just want to be prepared.

We are going down in June 2012 and if we have to take a late flight I don't want to waste my DVC points on 2 rooms until the next day. So we will stay in a 2 BR the first night all together then hopefully add a studio or 1BR the next night.
We will be doing the dinning plan and if I put everyone in one room for a night with the DDP even if they move the next day will thier credits still remain on the 2BR. So, we don't have to split meals with different cards.

Basically, the rules say that everyone no matter how long they stay in the room have to be on the same DDP. So, I'm thinking even if they leave the room for another thier credits will still be on the room they started in.

I'm sure that I'm not making the much sense but I really would like to keep everyone on one card to make it easier to pay at resturants.

Thanks for your help

Let's see if I get this straight.

You're using DVC reservations on points.

For the first night you want a reservation for the entire party in a 2 bedroom.

As of the second night, you want to split your party into two separate rooms.

You are booking all these rooms on your own points.

You want to get the dining plan for the entire party for the full stay. But you want to know if the DDP you receive for the first night in the 2 bedroom can last for the entire trip, so all your credits from the entire trip will be accessible from the key card you receive on the first night.

If I'm right about this, it's really a question that DVC members who are up on the reservation-segmenting procedure should be able to answer. Therefore I should move this to the DVC planning board so you can find out if you can 1) segment one reservation so you can have one night in a two bedroom followed by an unknown number of nights in two separate rooms; or 2) place the two separate DVC rooms under one reservation so you can share dining credits among both rooms.

All I know is that if the two rooms are on separate reservations, you cannot pool the credits, they will be separated according to the number of persons in each room.

I don't see it being a problem
I understand what you are saying...
If you are booking a 2-bedroom for a week, say with 8 people...
But two leave the second day to be in another room...
You will just have the DP on the 2-bedroom that has everyones name on it.
It won't be necessary to add it to the second reservation.
It might also be useful that way because everyone in the party would have access to the 2-bedroom for the kitchen.

That is exactly it. I want all 6 people on the DDP associated to only 1 room and not 2. We are letting the kids bring friends and I know that a 2 BR would be big enough but it is boys and girls and we have enough points to do it and I don't want to deal with them together.
