Hi

I have booked our holiday through virgin via Thomas Cook. I called Virgin today for my flight locator number and disney reservation number for ADR's. I was told Thomas cook needed to call !! Called Thomas Cook who called Virgin and called me back. I have the flight locator number
However Virgin said they do not have the disney reservation number until 90 days. I explained to her re booking dining and now 180 days and she said will keep trying, as 180 days not until April. I am now concerned I will not get this in time for my 180 window. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do ? Or if this is correct ?

Thanks

Jo

I have never done DDP thru either TC or VH, hopefully someone will post who has.
One of them has to give you it, you need it at 180 days. Either of these 2 companies or DisneyUS must be able to supply it, its essential.

I have booked with Disney.co.uk, sent email off to Disney.com 4-5 days later got reply containing my US res# I need for DDP reservations.

I'm hoping she just spoke to somone who didn't know what they were talking about !! Will give it another month or so and then call again if same response will hassle them. Wishing I had booked direct now, but I looked at it and was cheaper as a package with VH and Thomas Cook gave me a bit of a discount to book with them. Also thought they could have the hassle of dealing with Virgin rather than me !!

if you call to make adrs then you dont need a reservation number as I have done this for the last few years. even last year online didnt need a reservation number

VH dont send any details to disney till 90 days out as they bulk buy the rooms anyway so only have to provide disney names at 90 days out.

Thats crazy, glad I don't book thru Virgin.

Surely you can't do 180+10 then? you can only do standard reservations not associated with your reservation.
Might be easier now its 180 days but last year the 90+10 was essential for getting what we wanted. Struggled to get some, Cali grill we got the last slot of the night after searching thru all our dates. Without the +10 it would have been impossible.
Quieter months is probably easier but August was stupid for lack of choice, had to juggle loads.

i have always dont 180 +10 when booking with VA. I have only done diy last year and before that never had a problem with adrs at the 180 mark with no reservation number. last year was different as i done them around 30 days out as I was in hospital

Thanks for the replies
So looks like I won't get one until 90 days. So does that mean at 180 days I can only book 1 day at at time and not the + 10 ? :confused3

Thanks

Jo

I always book through Virgin, the last three years I have always emailed at about 200 days out to ask for my Disney number, and they have always sent it through to me. Go on the website and email the Frequent Virgin club . . . they have slightly more sense than the other depts there!!!

I hope I haven't been givena lame duck number then becuase I emailed VH the day I made my online booking and requested the US res number and within 7 days they had emailed me a number back, specifically stating this is the number to quote for disney dining.

Im not at my 180+10 window for a few days, so I haven't been able to try it yet!!

If you goto the dining reservations site it says something like click here to attach to hotel reservation, you should be able to log into that even though you can't make reservations so far ahead.

I had EXACTLY the same problem last year. Booked TC Signature package, Virgin flights and also no number. However I suspect that the communication problem may be Thomas Cook not Virgin. I have booked flight inclusive through Disney UK for this year and Virgin Holidays deal with the FI packages - and they gave me a US res no in July (we only go in October - by the way, also staying at POFQ; might be there at the same time:))

I would challenge the info that Virgin releases info to Disney only 90 days out on the basis that if you book with Virgin Holidays directly (i.e. not through a TA) it seems that you are able to get your US no in plenty of time for the 180 day window. It would be inconsistent for them to have two totally different approaches - I suspect Thomas Cook has a different system.

The girl I spoke to at Thomas cook was very helpful and had called VH for the information, it was VH who she said did not have the number until 90 days, not Thomas cook, she definatlely called them as I also asked for the flight locator number which she was able to give me, so I know she spoke to them she also said she would keep trying VH for me.

Thanks everyone, will see what the email says.

OH NO!!! I've just tried to do that and I it won't bring up my reservation. I have remailed VH!!

Worried sick now!!!

How long is the number? it should have 12 digits or 3 letters followed by 5 digits.
If its 6 or 8 digits then they are Disney.co.uk res# that won't work.

They need to give this to you - it would be very bad PR if their customers couldn't make ADRs at the same time as other customers.

Goodness knows what they've given me then as it's 2 letters and 12 numbers!!!!!!!

Beginning to worry now as i'm around a week off 180+10 !!:scared1:

I had this problem last year. It did take a couple of attempts as the castmember at Disney Dining clearly did not understand my Scottish accent - lol - but they can do it with just your name and address and stuff, providing they understand you! :lmao:
