Another ddp question?

We have just booked our trip for next aug staying at the POFQ for 3 weeks , with tickets and free dining plan. My question is this what do you actually get , is it a credit card or some form of voucher system,and are there any negatives to doing this plan as i can't find any on these boards?

All your credits are on your room key.

The only drawback to the dining plan, is that you'll definitely need to join WeightWatchers on your return

I've looked into the DDP and the only negatives that I could think of were:

1. It's a lot of food - much more than we would eat if we were paying for our meals normally.
2. With making an ADR everyday for your table service meal it means your meal plans are ruling your park plans - i.e. you need to be in the park or resort in good time to get to your ADR.

How do you give credits away then, is it by just lending someone else your room key. Have heard a lot of people doing this.As i already go to weight watchers this should not be too much of a problem.

Other negatives I found (we were also at POFQ on the free DDP):

Parks were much busier than usual
Counter Service / Quick Service establishments could not cope with the volume of diners
POFQ food court was busy at all times
As mentioned above you do have to book your ADRs in advance so this removes any spontaneity you may have once had (this may not bother you though)

If you have not been in August before then you probably won't mind, but we have been in August many times and were quite surprised by how busy it was in comparison with "normal" end of August crowds.

ETA There is no way I would lend anyone my room key - this gives access to your room remember and also if you have put your credit card against it, a free spending spree for them

We usually keep our holidays to July but because dd has only two years left at school we decided not to take her out even if it was only for the last 8 days.
We see it as a chance to try out some of the disney restaurants we have never tried and will definitely be making some adr's when the time is right.
