Okay on Sept 8th they changed the deposit policy and the policy about when payments are due (75 days out now).

Well they've also changed when you can book your excursions. I'll be 60 days out from my Nov 14 cruise tomorrow (09/15) so I called today to confirm that. The CM let me book my excursions today because as of the 09/08 policy change you can book excursions 90 days out.

I wonder, do you have to be paid in full to book 90 days out?

It certainly would increase people paying in full 90 instead of 75 days out.

I didn't even think about asking that ... we paid in full the day we booked, so that wasn't even on my radar ... but next year for our repo cruise I wasn't planning on making our final payment until we got closer to 60 days out (since we booked before 09/08) ... if we have to be paid in full to book our excursions, I guess I'm going to have to adjust the payment calendar.

I'm glad we can book our excursions sooner, but only if we could book Palo sooner....then it would be awesome!

wow - I am going to call in the morning to book my excursions.

I called this morning and they told me it is still 60 days, not 90.

I just booked mine this morning too for Nassau (60 days) and CC (which I would have normally had to wait until tomorrow on).

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, but at that deadline mark (in your case 60 days), you can book all excursions. You don't have to do it 60 days from your arrival at that particular port. It is just 60 days from your embarkation.

Am I misinterpreting your statement?

I called yesterday and the guy first told me 60, then I told him I thought I heard it was now 90 and he said "Uh, yeah, well, we just had a change so technically it's 90." Like he wasn't supposed to tell people this unless they specifically asked. Anyway, he also said that you have to be paid in full before you can book, even with the 90 day policy. So it seems to me as if Disney has found a way to get you to pay even sooner than you might ordinarily pay. I'm not paid in full and am not paying until I absolutely have to, so I can't book.

Denise, I haven't tried yet this morning but I am fully paid so if the previous poster is correct I should be able to. will let you know what happens.

No, it *WAS* 60 days from your excursion date. 60 days from today, for me (and Ivanova) will be Nassau. Tomorrorow (9/17) will be 60 days for Castaway Cay. I called today to originally only do the Nassau reservations however since the policy has changed, and we've been paid in full for awhile, they said they could do both days now. I suppose I could have called a month ago to do them. Regardless, we got everything we wanted.

Let me ask you this.
i know there is a final payment change on the 10 nights cruise or longer to 90 days instead of 60 days...now does that mean for my Panama cruise i now have to pay at 90 days or am i 'grandfathered' and can still pay at 60 days because of the existing reservations at that time, the final payment was 60 days?????

I am freaking out here, i need those extra 30 days!!!!

To anyone interested - they did allow me to go ahead and book the excursions for our cruise in November. Now I am even more excited.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

We are grandfathered and have until 60 days out to make final payment - it sounds like the "catch" is that if there's a popular excursion you want to book (which means booking the first possible day, which is now 90 days out) you'll need to pay in full 90 days out instead of 60 days out.

Stuart, they should let you book ALL excursions at the same time (used to be 60 days out from embarkation, now it's 90 days out).

Last year when we did this same cruise we called 60 days before embarkation and booked all of the excursions at once.

BTW, which excursions did you book for this cruise?? Maybe we'll be doing something the same?? :)

Thanks Susan, you put my mind as ease....;)

Well, i worry about the excursion next year...I just want to have that flexiblity to cancel, (god forbid) 60 days before instead of 90 days w/o penalty.

No StuartMI it has always been 60 days from departure of your cruise. I know on our 7 day cruises you just book on the 60 day mark from your departure and can always book all of the excursions including CC which would be 65 days or so out.

Cheers,
Grumbo

After three Disney cruises, that has never been the case for us. We've always been able to book all excursions on the 60-day mark from embarkation. Of course now, it will be 90 days.
