We are going to WDW for a few days pre- and post-cruise in mid-August with 2 kids, a 6yo foodie and a 2yo foodie (well, as much as a 2yo can be a foodie; she eats a lot if she likes something). I'm a mostly vegetarian but will eat flexibly (fish, some chicken though not as a big entree). Please let me know your thoughts:

1. Pre-Cruise (staying at GF, parks - MK/AK)
Wed - arrival day
1900 PF dinner*

Thurs
PPO CP breakfast*
Cali Grill dinner*

Friday
TH brunch*
casual dinner for kids, V&A for adults

Saturday -
breakfast? then go to Port Canaveral (We've been to every breakfast place at Poly, GF and CR)

2. Post-cruise (staying at BCV, parks - EP/HS/AK)

Saturday - arrival day
Akershus dinner*

Sunday
Garden Grill PPO breakfast
Tiffins dinner

Monday
Bon Voyage breakfast (Trattoria al forno)
Cape May Cafe dinner

Tuesday
Bon Voyage breakfast (haven't made flight reservations yet, may have to cancel)

* are places we've been before, and were requested by at least one member of my family.

We're not sure how much time to spend at AK with Pandora now open, and how much time to spend at HS. Also always struggling with going to our old favorites v. trying new restaurants. And whether to try to go to ROL, which looks really interesting to us. Frankly, if Moana were meeting kijds at any other park, we'd probably pass on HS altogether this year.

I'm not going to be much help about your ADRs but I will say if you have an opportunity to eat the sea bass on board ship - go for it! It was amazing!!!

I'd say move Trattoria Al Forno breakfast to the embarkation day and free up that morning on Monday. if you still wanted something for Breakfast move Cape may to breakfast and BlueZoo (if not on the DDP) for dinner or something in the world showcase if you are.

I think the only issue with trying to do Bon Voyage on embarkation day is that we will be staying at GF then, so going all the way to the Boardwalk on the day we are checking out might be tough.

How are you getting to the port?

I could suggest renting a car from Alamo at the Swan and Dolphin and returning it to the port (which is almost assuredly cheaper than a Disney transport) but Disney will be running busses from GF to Hollywood Studios and you cold walk from there or take a cab (for probably $15-$20) or an Uber (for probably $10).

Remember you are going to be stuffing your face for the week on the cruise.
Do you really want to stuff your face for 2 weeks? I could very easily no problem. But a lot of people can't.
If your party can't you might want to eat a little less. No need paying for a high price meal if your party is not going to enjoy it. Unless you have lots of $$$$ than it doesn't matter.
Enjoy

TS is often the best way to get our kids to eat well (and healthily). DH and I usually skip lunch and the kids either eat leftovers or something kid-sized. As for the cruise, just because it's there doesn't mean you (we) need to eat it. The baby is "free" and easily eats as much as the 6 yo. It'll be interesting to see what happens on the cruise, as we will probably do something light for lunch.

regarding kids under 3, i know they get food at the buffets, but do they get anything at the regular table service restaurants?
this is the first time we'll have an almost 2 year old with us, who easily eats more than the 3.5 year old (who'll be on the children's dining plan)...
i assumed she would have to share our meals with us when we're in a non-buffet restaurant

You have a choice of:
1. Having the 2 yr old eat off your plate, or share with the 3.5 yr old (or combination of both)
2. Order their own meal OOP

They can also have their own plate at family style meals, like Ohana and Akershus breakfast. Also Garden Grill.

At CRT, where it is a fixed priced meal, they served our under 3 their own meal, despite not paying for them. Not sure if this is policy, or pixiedust:

Yep, that's another draw of the buffet restaurants, as our toddler eats as much as our 5yo!

They did this for our older daughter too. Which is why I'm a big advocate for the "celebrate your third birthday at WDW" trip.
