Just to start, I always know what to fix for thanksgiving. :)

But for Christmas morning??? It used to be that I would fix a big breakfast, my family and his would show up and want some too.

Now, it's a little different. It's just me and my girls for that morning, then I go to my sisters house, and all the family is there. So, I need something easy and quick for that morning before heading over. I don't have a lot of time so something to prepare the night before would be great.
And it can't be eggs.

Any suggestions?

We do a breakfast casserole....and then cinnamon rolls. Rhodes. Thaw and rise in the refridgerator overnight.

Here are a couple casseroles we like. I use them whenever we have company.

We have Christmas Morning Bubble Ring here

20 frozen Rhodes white rolls
1 c. brown sugar
1 cube butter
1 small pkg vanilla pudding *not instant*
sprinkle of cinnamon

Lightly grease bundt pan. Add frozen rolls in pan and sprinkle over the top with cinnamon and sugar. Add chopped nuts or raisins if desired. Sprinkle pudding on top. Melt butter and spoon over the top. Cover with a damp cloth and let raise overnight. Bake at 350 for 30-40 min

It's easy and tastes good too!

We just do leftovers from Christmas eve. We usually have a party the night before, so we have leftover cheese and crackers, leftover Christmas quiche, etc. We start cooking dinner around 9:00, so we just snack all morning.

We always make Pilsbury cinnamon rolls and bagels. If you like english muffins, www.wolfermans.com has some great stuff. I always "do" Christmas, so breakfast has to be easy.

I've never seen a breakfast casserole without grits; it just ain't right. :teeth:

However, we always have cinnamon rolls (just Pillsbury) each Christmas morning so that it is quick and easy.

We fix a more traditional lunch, but it is usually just our immediate family as we visit relatives on the weekends before and after Christmas.

For a big to do--we did a big country breakfast one year. YUMMY!

For small to do's--hubby brought along his family tradition that you have to eat "breakfast" before we could open gifts...so we are always doing little breakfasts.

Cinnamon rolls are yummy :).

This is what we do too but we use butterscotch pudding instead of vanilla. There is really NO prep work other then greasing the bundt pan and throwing everything in. I don't pre-melt the butter, I just put in pats of butter all around the ring. My kids love this.

French Toast Casserole here - assemble it the night before, refrigerate, put in the oven upon waking up, while opening presents, it cooks, then we eat...

I also cut up an orange, apple, and have bananas and cereal available... maybe some precooked bacon (from Sam's!!)

1 french bread 10 oz
8 LG Eggs
3 Cups Milk
4 ts sugar
1 T of vanilla
2 T of butter
cinnamon

1. Grease 13 x 9 pan Place bread, cut into squares in pan
2. Beat eggs, milk sugar and vanilla
3. Pour over Bread slices, or cubes...
4. Refrig at least 4 hours or overnight
5. Add butter on top, sprinkle cinnamon... Bake 350 for 45 - 50 min.

Serve with maple syrup.

I always make homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Christmas.
the day before I make the dough in the bread machine. Roll them out and put them in the pan in the fridge.

Then in the morning while we open gifts, I stick them in the oven. By the time we're done opening gifts, the rolls are ready!

Dh makes homemade cinnamon rolls, it takes him ALL night - they are deelish - he got the recipe off Food Network - Alton Brown I believe... but is it ever time consuming - me? I'd be off to Krispy Kremes!!

I also have an "adult" breakfast casserole, but its an "acquired" test - can of crab, cream cheese, dill, eggs... again, assemble it the night before - its reallly good, but my kids dont like crab, or cream cheese!!! :rotfl:

How about Monkey Bread? You quarter Pillsbury bisquits (regular, not grand), I think about 4 containers. Roll the quarters in balls, roll the balls in a sugar cinnamon mixture, put balls in a bundt pan, dot with butter, bake and a wonderful breakfast with juice!

Or even get the Pillsbury cinnamon rolls from the canister. My kids LOVE the mini cinnaman rolls!

this sounds yummy.......I think this will be what I'll be making for Christmas morning this year.....maybe with a quiche also???

thanks for sharing the recipe!

I like to pick up a bunch of LARGE Cinnabon rolls from the mall. Nuke in the am and serve...heaven! Also had friends give us chocolate croissants from some high-end store...they were okay.

On Christmas Day, as a treat when we were little, we got to have Christmas Cookies for breakfast! Although we were too busy digging into our loot to eat!

I also make a Baked French Toast- easy to prepare the night before. If you search Allrecipes.com, you can find one that has it's own sauce- no need for syrup! I used one that has apples and raisins in it too.

Yummy! I just had lunch and you all have made me hungry again. lol I'll have to do a few taste tests before making the final decision. :teeth: :teeth:

My wife does all the cooking and will put a lot of work into Christmas dinner this year. I'd be happy with pastries and then look forward to the big meal later on.
