***********'s thread made me wonder if there is a fast-pass type plan implemented there yet? With all those great rides it would be a huge help! I think Great America (Illinois) was trying to start something similar late last summer, but they were charging a ridiculous fee, and didn't have the merging of the lines worked out etc. Anyone have any info?

Some rides do, but they only have so many and run out very quickly. At least this was my expirence last summer.

From www.cedarpoint.com:

FreeWay - A Faster Way to Ride

A ride reservation system using hand stamps is available for the 2003 season. There is no charge for this service. It is available on Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, Magnum, Mantis, Raptor and Wicked Twister. All you have to do is go to the Freeway hand stamp kiosk located near the ride entrance and get your hand stamp with a boarding time. Your boarding time is good for one ride anytime within the one hour stamped on your hand. Once it is your hour please show your hand stamp to the ride host at the entrance to the ride and you will enter our Freeway queue, which will merge with the regular ride queue just minutes before entering the station. At the merge point a ride host will stamp “Ride” on your hand to indicate you have used your boarding time.

To allow as many guests as possible to take advantage of Freeway only two ride reservations per person are allowed. Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force can only be obtained once. Reservation times are subject to availability. Freeway is not a guarantee to ride. Weather or maintenance conditions may delay or cancel your reservation time.

Like chesirechik mentioned, they do tend to run out of the passes pretty quickly. Most days, they won't be available after noon or so.

I'm not crazy about having my hand stamped for this. I guess because we have two hands we get two chances. ;)

When you've done your ride with the handstamp, go to the restroom, soap up, and scrub hard! :)

Great America in IL does have a similar FastPass thing but it's really not that great. For $10 you get 4 rides that you can ride. There are choices between several rides but on one pass you can only ride 4 rides. They also do go fast - so if you plan on going in the afternoon, they usually are gone. We have done this in the past and it is actually pretty nice. I think when we went two years ago (I didn't go last year but dd did with her band but they weren't allowed to do the pass thing) they did have separate lines to go in. At least for Batman they did.
