I hope this doesn't annoy anyone. I looked through the threads and even did a search, but didn't really find what I was looking for. Most posts were from 07.

I am considering doing a cabana for the day at HRH. Theme doesn't matter as much as location--to me. I'd like a recommendation for one that is close to the slide & bar but also has a decent view of the dive in movie. Also, does anyone know the current prices? Still $185?

Thanks!

i found this on the website:

The centerpiece of the Hard Rock Hotel is the 12,000 square foot pool - it's a "can't miss" activity during your stay with us.
Hang out at the beach and soak up the sun for the day. Your favorite tunes fill the air, plus the pool features an underwater sound system so you'll never miss a beat. Get yourself a refreshing beverage from the Beachclub and you'll be all set.

Spend the day at the pool enjoying the sunshine while remaining cool by renting one of our cabanas, which come equipped with a ceiling fan, a plasma TV, wireless internet, and of course, a server to bring you drinks all day long!

For the full rock n’ roll experience upgrade to one of our themed cabanas and spend the afternoon in "The Yellow Submarine" or Stevie Wonder’s "Musiquarium."

Call (407) 503–2236 to reserve your cabana today! Fees apply.

The 12,000-square foot sand beach pool also features the following:

Underwater stereo sound system
Interactive play area for children, including a 260-foot water slide
Two (2) Jacuzzis
Sand volleyball court

they do have 4 themed cabanas but they cost more.
the popular ones are the yellow submarine and stevie wonders musicquarium or something like that.

if you stay club level, you get a discount of $50 off.

i'm trying to find the price for you.

i did notice a thread with pictures of the cabanas and will try to locate it as it had a map with it.

the one i am thinking of is the cabana that is just to the left when you come out the door. it is good for the location of the dive in movies.
the screen is put up opposite side of the pool from where the entrance/exit doors are that lead to the pool.

Thanks for the info Mac! You are digging like a madwoman, lol. Don't break your back for me, although I do appreciate it ;) . I was hoping someone who'd recently stayed could share some insight.

One thing's for sure...I did NOT know about the $50 off for club stays...which we are! That's fab!!

Forgot to ask if they still offer 1/2 days and what days are the dive in movies?

Thanks!

Hi everyone! I did some digging for us! (Our Hard Rock Hotel stay is in October...)

Cabana rentals: Summer hours $160 for standard, $200 for beachside.
Non peak prices (once summer is over) is $110 for standard and $140 for beachside.

#7 is the Yellow submarine cabana and #10 is the Musicaquarium cabana at beachside prices. Didn't mention any other themed cabanas.

Club level is still $50 off! No half days offered.

Summer cabana hours are from 9am to 11pm; after summer, it sounds like they close an hour earlier.

Dive In Movies for the summer: Wed/Fri/Sun with Sundays Dive In featuring a concert movie. Once summer is over, they mentioned that they might actually add another night. (Seems backwards to me...)

Required to hold a cabana: Confirmation number for hotel, room number, reservation number. If you're going to cancel, do so by 9pm the day before or 50% will be charged to room/cc.

I hope this helps! I think I'll be doing this for one day during our stay...maybe get it for a Saturday so DH can do his "Go Blue!" football thing. (Party in the cabana!!!)

Which brings me to my next question that I forgot to ask - how many people can be in a cabana??

Great info...thanks for posting!

Now if only I knew which cabana to request...

When you get back, be sure and post your experience. I especially want to know which cabana is good for seeing the movie and is close to the bar.

Thanks!

I reserved our cabana today!!! We ended up with the aquarium themed cabana - Stevie Wonder's music isn't played - and it sounds neat being blue and aquarium themed I guess...
The Yellow Submarine one was SOLD OUT! (Mac - is there something you're not telling me?! :rotfl: ) We are waitlisted - but I really doubt that one will come through!

Another tidbit - pool bar opens at 11am - you also receive a complimentary fruit basket and a stocked fridge (with 2 cokes, 2 diet cokes, 2 sprites and 2 waters).

I'm excited now!!!

Anyone going soon that could grab some pictures of these???

This is for your October stay, so calling about 3 months out is good? I have plenty of time then. I don't need a themed cabana. I just want a good location for the movie and bar...although, from what I've read, you'll have a server, so maybe being close to the bar isn't all that important?

I think I am going for cabana #9! I am tempted to call now, but they will probably think I am nuts! Could you share the number you called, in case I decide to? Thanks!

i listed the phone number above in my beginning post to you.
i thought you wanted a head on view of the movie and nearest the snack bar.

Well, yes, I do I suppose, but then it dawned on me that we would have a server...or so it says...so we wouldn't necessarily need to be near the bar. Are the servers readily available or would it be easier to place orders ourselves?

I want it all, I guess! :rotfl: Ds will want to be near the slide and be able to see the movie. Dh will want his Bud Lite's readily flowing and I just want to be able to relax! Is that too much to ask :rotfl2: ? Sorry about the phone #...I forgot it was up there. Thanks for all your help. I guess when I call, I will need to explain what I want and hope for the best! PS. I googled like crazy trying to find a map of the cabanas to no avail...

This year I had yellow sub, I really like the one right next to it also (Number 7 I believe). We love the cabanas. Yellow sub, unthemed, that doesn't matter, what's so cool is the service and the shade!!! Enjoy!

What did you like about #7? Also, was the service good? Does that mean being next to the bar is unimportant? Thanks!

I guess the fact that it's in a good sunny location right in front of the kiddie pool. If you just want to sun yourself and do a quick cool off you can step 8 feet to the kiddie pool, sit for a second, or splash in the mini spouts of water in the kiddie pool, it's really convenient. I appreciated that a lot more when my little one couldn't be in the big pool without parental supervision every minute! She sat in the kiddie pool, I sat in the cabana, watched tv, whatever I wanted. I don't care about the bar because you have a personal server that will get you whatever you need, whenever you need it. You can even call the bar from the cabana and request your server, or request he bring you something.
Also, you can see the water slide from there. The view, I think, is just slightly obstructed, but still a view. If I'm wrong, someone will correct me, but that's how I remember it.

hope that helps??? Maybe it's just because that was my "first," LOL.

Oh Yeah, Service At The Pool Is Always Great! My server was Andrew, he was really nice and accomodating. I highly recommend him.

No worries about not getting the Yellow Sub cabana Mac! I knew its the most popular! The aquarium one sounds fun though too! Can't wait!!! Keep the beers and vanilla stoli and cokes flowing! :rotfl:

Well, if service is that good and that easy (a phone call away) I guess I'm sold on #9. I don't need or even care for a theme. For me it would be about location and view of the movie. I orginally thought I wanted to be close to the bar for drinks & snacks etc, but with a personal server, I guess it doesn't matter!

Thanks for all the info! I am really excited to do this now! We won't use it all day...I just can't be so close and not do the parks, but we would use it in the afternoon for a break and in the evening, since the parks close fairly early in February. We'll probably come back and change and have a casual Beach Club dinner. I wouldn't think it's worth it when using it so little, but with the club discount it is, for us anyway.

Thanks again. Dissers are so awesome...you all know how to treat a fellow homie!

Has anyone ever rented a cabana at RPR? Was it nice like all the other resorts?

I know I am answering this 2 months later, but the server was way TOO convenient.

2 cabanas (7 & 8), 8 people. Got there at opening, left at closing after the movie. Suffice it to say the bar/food bill far surpassed the cost of the rental of the two cabanas.

They just kept bringing those blue things over and over and over again :rolleyes1
