Another bullying thread

Karissa told me today that 5 kids in her class were imitating her today. She has some involuntary spasms with her arms and they were pretending to be her

She was really hurt. Apparently the teacher stepped right in and they had to give her all of their "class money" play money that they get for various things like doing their homework that they can use for special prizes or whatever. They also to apologize to her.

She said they did it again and no one did anything after that time, even after the teacher was told about it.

She was really upset by it there is nothing she can do about this movement. If my kid ever did that they would be paying for a long time.


I will say this is the only bullying that we have had to deal with this at this school so far. We pulled them out of their last school because the principal did nothing about the bullying problems there. Well at least he didnt until I took the guidebook in highlighting what HIS policy was and where he was failing. Then I threatened to go to the media during Rachels challenge week. Evil, maybe. But I was so tired of my child being scared to go to school.



UGH I really hope this isnt a pattern here.

I would guess that giving up their "money" was worth it and now the teacher had nothing else to take away. And then the teacher proved it buy not reprimanding them on the repeat offense.

I would notify the teacher immediately.

If it happens again and the teacher does nothing, I would elevate it.

Nothing worse than kids making fun of something that you cannot change.

I'm so sorry your kiddo has to go through this. Been there, done that, wrote the book. Kids seem to be getting meaner and meaner... I don't understand why. I just don't get it.

I'm sorry that your daughter's feelings were hurt. It sounds like the teacher may not have known what to do next.

Others might contradict me, but my impression is that kids, in general, have become kinder about these issues. I think we were more mean. This doesn't help your daughter right now, but hopefully this will be as bad as it gets.
