we have managed to book a 2 bedroom dedicated theme park view at BLT I was told any dedicated 2 bedroom from the 6th on up could have a theme park view. Is this correct ? I was also told that theme park view did not mean castle view.

I'm assuming you booked an MK view. Then yes you will definitely see the castle. If you booked a lake view you might or might not get to see the park. We had a lake view and where on the 8th floor. If looking at the building with your back to the MK, then you would want the left side of the building. We could see cinderella's castle and the fireworks perfectly, without leaning over the balcony. Hope this helps.

Yes we took the dive and went for MK view. Will have to not go on points for 2012 to recover but hey we need to vistit other places too. Right? :rotfl2:

You will see the castle. You may also, as we did, see the underside of the monorail, the parking lot and the side of the contemporary. We had to lean over the balcony rail to see the fireworks and couldn't quite see all of them--the far right portion was cut off. There are Magic Kingdom views and there are Magic Kingdom views and fourth floor on the side of the curve away from the Magic Kingdom was a really crappy Magic Kingdom view. Can you tell that I still resent the points we spent for that view?

I have heard that there are MK view rooms on floors as low as 3. Unless they have reclassified things, there have been some that have been disappointed with what they got.

This is why we will probably never spend the extra points for MK view. We have stayed LV twice now and had nice views from these.

at blt you really need to be 8th floor and above.
the 6th floor is still under the monrail.
think the 7th floor is the monrail.
you need to be above the monrail to see the MK.

now there are those people (me included) that love the monrail and would not mind seeing it with the MK in the background.

others want to see the MK.

I was surprised when calling to see about availability for BLT the the CM told me there are only 14 of each reservation classification that are standard view. I can see where there would be some LV and MK views that might make people sorry for the number of points used. I went on the waitlist and he told me that LV would give me the best chance.

Thats me I wouldnt mind the monorail with the castle but not without the castle. Oh and leaning over is not an option for obvious safety reasons :)

In talking with a CM at check in once he reminded me that many of the rooms at BLT are THEME PARK view...because some rooms see MK while others have a view of Epcot....popcorn::

So why did they tell you this? did you get an Epcot view?

This happened to us, too. BAD view, although we were up a lot further than you were. Will never do MK view again, and probably won't do BLT either.

oh no!!! I do not want to hear this. I borrowed points to do this and it is so worth it for the MK view but will be really disappointed if it doesn't pan out. :scared1:

We have stayed at a Lake View and a Magic Kingdom view and were lucky both times to have an excellent view of the castle and the fireworks. I was told that most of the rooms are Lake View that is why your chance at wait listing lake view is the best. I was also told that rooms with a Magic Kingdom view meant that you could see the castle from your bed. That was true in our case but I can't say if they are all that way. It was spectacular and well worth the points in my opinion.

but when you looked over the railing, you could see space mountain and the castle. It was awesome. We got drinks from the upstairs lounge and enjoyed the fireworks from our balcony. Loved it.:lovestruc

As a BLT owner I don't ever plan to use my BLT points for the MK view. I bought for the standard view. We just returned and was on the second floor inside C (again). I guess I need to start making requests for the outside C. The same view twice in 6 months for us. I have a BLT reservation/standard for August 2011, so will try for an outside C this time.

What was wrong with BLT that you wont do it again.

It was not enough like being on vacation for us. I know that probably sounds strange, but we enjoy a more relaxed feel. We've stayed OKW, SSR and BLT now, and BLT was our least favorite. We like a more tropical vacation feeling, I guess. BLT was just like staying in a skyscraper in a city somewhere. I never did relax. The king bed was horrible. DH slept on the sleeper chair in the living room after about 3 nights. I ended up on the pull out couch for the last two nights. It was so much better than the master bed! The master bathroom was very dark. I could hardly see in there. The shower had that strange drip thing going on, so it dripped freezing cold water on me every morning when I got in. I got better at dealing with it after a while, but what a pain. Our 'MK View' was basically of the Contemporary's loading dock, which was 'Beep...Beep...Beep' very loud very early every morning.

DH and I both grew up staying at the CR with our families (mine always stayed MK view), and we were just sure that we'd love it, but it was SO not for us ;) BCVs are up next.

P.S. This all cost me ~480 points for 8 nights. Fool me once...

When we stayed in May, I had that cold dripping water from the overhead rain shower. While there a few weeks ago, the shower head was removed from our master bathroom shower. It had a plug on it and only the wall shower worked. I thought maybe they removed them all, so after your post, I'm guessing they are still in some units. I was actually glad it was gone, as I endured the "Chinese water torture" in May -- that ice cold water dripping on your head and back first thing in the morning is a real eye-openner.

We were actually there in February, so maybe they are all gone now???

If I were to read this post before I stayed at BLT, I would be EXTREMELY nervous!! BUUUUTTT, I can say that we loved our MK view, and no, we couldn't see the castle from our bed. We did have to look slightly to the left to see the Castle. The most important thing is to request the highest available floor.

Enjoy your trip!!!
