Another Avis Code

I just got my newest magazine from RCI. They have a deal with Avis, code is B149854. Not sure if it's a good one, but give it a whirl.

I tried it - it's middle of the road, better than some, not as good as others. I keep waiting for that coupon code that'll get the price down to 5 bucks a day! I did get a car in Vegas for $12/day on my last trip there, but I don't think these Florida destinations are quite that desperate to rent cars.

I got a rate of $35ish at the Port for Nov. 30 for one day using my corporate code. Unfortunately, I can't share it.

I got a base rate of $32.99 on an intermediate using one of the codes floating around. With all of the tack-on fees and charges the total will still be over $40. Still, that's far cheaper than transfers times 3 or a limo. Limos are fun, but I'll save that money for drinks and trinkets. I got lucky on that Vegas thing, it was the middle of a dead week.

I got a coupon in the mail for Avis from my credit union. It is for $15.00 off for a week or one week end day free. I haven't tried it yet to see how much it will save but you may want to check and see it other credit unions are giving out this coupon too.

I experimented with the 3 days we have a car reserved before our cruise in September. For an intermediate the undiscounted rate, including taxes, was $192.85. The RCI code gave a rate of $183.29, and our rate with the discount from www.space-coast.com is still the best deal - $129.97.

Tried the rate straight off the Avis site. To pick up the car afternoon on Friday at MCO, then return late A.M. at P3F (Cocoa Beach Radisson). The rate goes down about five bucks. Compact, $47.63 with code and $52.63 without. Dates given were Oct 4-5, Fri-Sat. So the rate seems to yield five dollars total, no matter how many days, comparing to Mike
