We just got back from another great weekend! It was the start of spring break countrywide, and it was definitely busy! This was my first time really letting DW (who says my overplanning is overkill) drive the trip! And I have to say, I'm still a recovering commando style tourer (sp?), but I really loved the trip.

On Friday night, we checked into our Disney Springs hotel, and just ate dinner at the hotel.

Saturday morning, we had FP for Speedway, HM, and a night time one for SM.

We arrived at 9:45 and used our FP for Speedway. From there, we hopped on the train to Frontierland. We got off and went to Splash Mountain. DD3 was finally just 40 inches! Only a 45 min wait at 1040ish, so we did it. It was a great memory of our first time all riding together. We headed towards Tom Sawyer island for the first time as a family, as the crowds were really building at this point. Had a great 1 hour on the island and it really helped us to have that break. The mines are great for the kids to explore. We then used our FP for HM. Had a 70 min stand by! We then ate at Pecos Bill. Busy, but adequate. My wife then wanted to take the monorail to EPCOT. So we did it. First time doing that. We got into EPCOT, then meandered towards Mission:Space. We stopped and listened to the drummers, and played in the fountain by Test Track. We then rode Mission:Space for the first time together with only a 10 minute stand by wait. Kids had a blast (pun intended), and I forgot about the play place at the end. From here, we walked around the showcase having a few drinks. Was pretty crowded (it was Saturday night, duh) but we made it all the way around while the little ones napped (thanks to that playground). We took the monorail back to MK to use our FP for SM. SM was down, so we rode people mover then the small drizzle pushed us into Cosmic Rays for Dinner. Watched HEA from there, then headed to use our anytime FP for Splash again! On the way we rode Winnie the Pooh which had a 15 min wait. Then closed out our day with a ride on Splash. It was a great day!

Yesterday, we went into MK with only a Dumbo FP. We arrived at 11AM and used our Dumbo FP. It was getting hot and was very crowded, so DW suggested bailing and going to Blizzard Beach. So we did it! Got there around 1:30, and stayed until close at 5. It was our first time at that park, and we really enjoyed it.

So I have to say, while I do love a great Excel spreadsheet, I may put DW in charge of our trips permanently! It was really fun to just do what we wanted when we wanted. The old me would have been stressed turning on a dime like that, but it was one of our best trips. Thanks for reading!

I love the flexibility of being AP and not having to do "everything" each trip, too. Glad your trip was fun.

Welcome to the non-planning dark side. Sounds like it worked out great, we love just doing what we want when we want and not having to rely on plans.
