Okay all,

First of all, i want to tell all of you what a wonderful site this is. I have learned so much about WDW and tickets, rates etc for all of you you have no idea. This site is better than any guide I could ever purchase to learn about the in and outs of disney world. You guys will make my trip the best yet. The last time i was there I was 18 for my senior trip, believe me I am not 18 anymore! haha! So I am thrilled to go there with just my boyfriend and I. He has never been there so I want to show him the time of his life so he is addicted and will go again.

Okay okay so here is the question for all of you.

I reserved my room at the Poly with the AP discount rate. I called the Disney Store in my area and asked if they have AP pass to purchase, they do. Sooooooo, here is my question. They send they give you a voucher but needs to be activated once we arrive. Does the voucher need to be activated BEFORE we are able to check in. If the answer is yes, can they activated at the Poly. If not, how do I do this before check in, and also we are not renting a car so if I have to drive anywhere to activate this I can't. This may sound like a nutty question but I never did this before. Help please!!

Thanks all,
Gina

Sometimes the CM checking you in will accept the voucher as proof that you have an AP, sometimes they won't. To activate an AP, you have to go to the ticket booth for any of the 4 main parks, as well as, DTD. That's the only place you can activate an AP. Most of the CM's if they want an activated AP upon check-in, will check you in and just say to show them your activated AP later in the day. Otherwise, you'll have to monorail over to the Mk prior to checking in and activate your AP, and then come back to the Poly. I've used the AP rate many times, and never once have I've been asked to produce my AP.

I have only used my annual pass to get a room discount once, and they did not ask to see it at check in. But I have read that others have been asked stop back at the reservation desk after activating their pass.

You can activate them at the parks, and the MK is only a short monorail ride away.

Have a wonderful time !

This board is the best. I will purchase it at the Disney Store then, at least they see I have the voucher.

I am really looking forward to this trip, I just have my little suspicions that my beau willing be popping the question!!!! What a great place to get engaged!!

Thank you for answering so promptly!:bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We had a CM who was "earning her ears" a.k.a. in training, so she followed the Rule Book. She said, "I see here you have an AP rate for the room. May I see your AP?" I showed her the voucher and that was sufficient for her. I didn't have to come back later to show the activated AP.

Just my experience.

Since you are going to the Poly, even if they required an activated AP to check in, it would be an easy hop, skip and a jump to the MK ticket booth.

Gina,

If you are flying in, your AP CAN BE ACTIVATED AT THE DISNEY STORE IN THE AIRPORT. This is what we are doing. I didn't want to have to make an extra stop either.

Hope this helps

I was told the only way your AP can be activated at the airport Disney Store is if you buy it at that store. I recently asked the same question on this board and that is what I was told. I'd love to be wrong - it would make things much easier for us too!

The vouchers will work for check-in. They are proof that you've purchased APs. That's the first I've heard of a CM not accepting them. In the unlikely event that a CM won't accept them, ask for the manager.

You have been misinformed.

You can purchase an activated AP/PAP there but you cannot exchange an AP/PAP voucher there. The exchange can only be done at a Guest Relations location or major park ticket booth at WDW.

The two Disney's Earport shops at MCO are not Guest Relations locations just as the Character Premiere and Character Warehouse locations aren't either. They can all sell you an active AP but they can't exchange a voucher for one.

The easiest and quickest place to activate a voucher when staying at the Poly and not heading to the parks for the day is at the TTC ticket booths. It's a 5 minute walk from the Poly front desk.
