I still have my old AP from years ago (when they had the awesome buy a year, get a year free!) and will be getting a new pass in a couple of weeks. Can they just scan and reactivate that one or do I need to go through the process of getting a whole new one? It is red with my picture on it. Thanks!

Since it's over the 30 day renewal period, you would need to get a new AP. The new one will look like a regular ticket as they no longer do the plastic APs with your picture on it. I'm hoping and praying nothing happens to mine since I have one of the old APs with my picture.

me too Metro!
i have the older style of hard plastic credit card style with the picture.

yea, once you let your AP expire a few years, you start over with the newer version.
