Well here it is Black Saturday. Mickey calls at 9:00 telling us theres big doins at the parks and up and at em .hate to tell you Mickey but the only time Im going to see the MK today is from the plane as we take off.
We actually had a day left on our hoppers and had tentatively scheduled this morning to go anywhere we wanted for a final fling on some of our favorites but honestly we were so exhausted we decided to let the hopper expire (gasp!) and just take it easy around the resort.
Our DME pick up time was set for 1:15 for our 4:00 flight. We lingered in bed and left our room right at 11. We called to have our bags stored until our DME time no problem.
We decided since we skipped Kona for dinner last night that we would have our last meal here for lunch. Since they dont open until 12 and we were now homeless we ended up getting our final fillup on our mugs and heading out the pool. It was so nice just to sit by the pool and relax something we rarely do on our trips to the World.
ADR time was here and we headed up to Kona. Lunch was really nice nothing spectacular but really nice. David had the pulled pork sandwich, I had the Kona club sandwich which was HUGE and Abby had the chicken fingers. We all had dessert I had the caramel banana crème brulee, David had the white chocolate cheesecake and Abby had the kiddie cone which was bigger than she was.
Well, we cant avoid it any longer time for the depressing ride back to MCO. DME picks us up right on time and were off.
A trip to WDW is a lot like Thanksgiving dinner. You spend so much time obsessing and planning and anticipating and then *poof* - its over! Our plans are for a return trip to the Poly in Nov 07. David says we really need to take a year off and rent a house at the beach and have a relaxing vacation. As much as I love WDW I agree. In 07 we will also have Emily with us shell be 4 ½ so well need to switch out of commando mode and slow it down a pace. Weve decided we are going to take a day in the middle of the week and have resort day just spend some time at the pool or renting boats or shopping. I think it will rejuvenate us for the rest of the week this trip we bordered on burn out by the last day.
I have to give props to the Poly one last time it is truly a special place. It is a fundamental part of my childhood memories and is now just as special to us as a family. While I do love the WL I really dont think there will ever be a place that pulls me in like the Poly. As long as we are blessed enough to include it in our budget it will be our WDW home.
The magic is still there through the hurricanes and everything else going on in this crazy world there is still a place you can escape to where - even if just for a few days in this World there is no crime, war, disasters, sickness or sadness. Thanks Walt.
So, its on to planning for November 2007. A long way away, but thats ok we all know half of the fun of a WDW trip is the planning! Only 18 more months and I can make my ADRS .
