Is it true that they have closed the processing centers in DL and DCA? I purchased my passports online and was told to go to the main entrance ticket booth to have them processed. Will they give me my cards there? :confused3

Yup! Then they will instruct you how to get your photo taken in the park.

Thanks! We are arriving late on a Monday night and wanted to get them processed so we can get into the park bright and early Tuesday. First time at DL for Christmas and super excited.

And just so you know, if you want to enter the parks first, you can take your e-ticket to the turnstile and they will give you a temporary ticket. Then at some point that day, you must go to the ticket booth and get your "real" pass.

This was better for us because we like to be there for rope drop and not have to stand in line in the morning. The lines at the booths tend to be longer in the morning as well.

They will instruct you to have your picture taken by a Photopass photographer. You can also stop at the Photo Shop on Main and ask to have your picture taken. Have fun! :goodvibes

So you don't go to guest services (that looks like an old fashioned bank) on your right when you enter DL park?

Where is the main entrance ticket booth? Those booths that are in the open area between DL and DCA?

Yup. Any booth will do!

Yes, do not go to guest services.

Go to the ticket booths which are on the east and west side of the Eslanade that is between the DL and DCA gates.

If you do go to guest services, they will kindly tell you that they can't help you and to go to the ticket booths outside the park. We had this happen on our trip... twice! lol.

This is now the Disney Gallery. They have the Disneyland Railroad on showcase currently. They put this in back about 2006 or so. And had moved the AP processing center to the Paviliion then. Now that they aren't putting pics on the APs, they closed it and are refurbing it to the Jolly Holiday Bakery.

Step 1 : Go to turn style & get Temporary ticket.
Step 2: Go to ticket booth get "hard card"
Step 3: Get your photo taken by any photo pass photog

OR

Good to know, thanks. We would have been confused as we are getting AP's this time and it's been awhile since we bought them.

We won't be using PhotoPass. I assume they will still take your photo for the AP? Do they hand you a hard copy of your picture or is it supposed to go into the computer system? If you get a photo by them, go directly to a ticket booth, will the photo be there or does it take time?

Do you have to search around to find a PhotoPass photographer?

I just re-read the thread.

So you get your hard copy AP FIRST, then get your photo taken? That means your photo is NOT on the AP? Or do they have a way to attach it? Or do they just take your photo for their system for I.D. purposes?

We would probably take care of it right away, not do the temporary ticket and hit the park. We are arriving mid day and will not be in a rush that first day to get going.

Correct, there is no photo on the AP itself. This is a relatively new change. Now when they swipe your AP, your photo still appears on their screen, it's just not on the card.

Okay, thanks.

Where do we find the PhotoPass photogs? I've read sometimes on the boards that people using PhotoPass can't always find a photographer when they need them. So are there always some around Main Street?

Especially now that the Christmas decorations are up, I don't think PP CMs will be hard to find. I would look right in front of the big Christmas tree in Town Square or near Partner's Statue and the castle.

I'm getting a new AP next week, so I'll be scouting out photogs too.

There are almost always a photographer right inside the gates taking pics in front of the Mickey flowers.

You need your "hard pass" first before you get your photo taken. They will scan your AP and then take your photo. Your photo then "magically" appears when they scan your AP for entry.

You will have to search for a photopass photog. Took us 2 days to get our photos. You can also go to the Main Street camera shop to get the photo taken. We were about to when we spotted one by the big pumpkin on Main Street.

This is true in most cases but as my friend's family and I found out this last week, at some of the places it won't show up. I am specifically talking about the ride photo place at Screamin' in DCA. My friend's mother tried to purchase the photo and the CM working the register told her that she needed her ID as they didn't do the picture scan. I don't know if that was just the CM not wanting to scan it, as we purchased other ride photos and they showed up with our photos on the screen when our pass was swiped. Just be aware that some places and CMs might require you to show your ID to get the discount.

We won't be there during any of the holidays so the pumpkin or Christmas tree won't work.

Hopefully there will be someone in the front, thanks! Or at the camera shop - is that on the right or left side of main street? Right past the Emporium or where?

Camera Shop is on the right side at the end of Main Street by the Corn Dog Cart.
