Annual Passholders who booked Free Dining

I finally received a call from Disney after 4 emails. I have booked to stay at SSR on the free dining promotion in August so of course had to buy the theme park tickets aswell. We already have annual passes which were activated last December so these will still be valid for August trip. Sent numerous emails to Disney asking if anyway I could pay to have them extended to expire in 2010. Unfortunately when they did finally call they said the answer was no. I tried explaining that its a bit unfair if you have already paid out large sum for annual passes but they said simply nothing they could do. So my next question was could I have the paper pass rather than it being on the key card. That way I could atleast try and sell them on to someone. They weren't sure about this and said I should ask when I check in at SSR. Just wondering if anyone has managed to get the paper tickets when booking a package. We are going again in November with friends and am just wondering if it would be ok for them to use the tickets if they are the key card ones. Never been asked for id at the turnstiles before. Just seems a huge waste of 3 14 days tickets. The free dining was still a great deal for us and fars cheaper than paying for dining so I am not too upset. Anyway I will of course try to get them swapped over somehow but not holding out much hope. Luckily I booked package when the tickets were still £160.

Luckily our AP's expire on 5th August, arrive for free DDP on 6th August so couldn't have planned it better.
We still have not decided what we are doing for next 12 months, DS in his last year at High school doing GCSE's so need to cut the hols. With yours not expiring until Dec don't know if this would be much use to you.

Thanks, hadn't seen that thread before so interesting reading. WOuld be happy to pay for upgrade to annual pass as long as they are not activated straight away. I could then use them for 2 trips next year. I am going to just keep asking while we are there in August. Have 18 days there so hopefully I might come across atleast 1 CM who is willing to do something.

I doubt that would be an option, if you read the scan in post #8 in the link the cast member has written instructions to set expiry to 15th August which was the start date of the original 14 day ticket.
I think all upgrades will work this way as you need the 5/7/14/21 day ticket to get free DDP, you can't upgrade until the end of your DDP.

I am having similar problems (with AP and Ultimate tickets) and have phoned multiple times. Eventually I was told that the tickets on the KTTW card are only valid for the duration of the free dining (that they could not be used for my December trip).

There seems to be so much conflicting info fom Disney. The guy that called me was very clear about the expiry date, 31st December so I am really hoping that this is correct. I am also hoping that if I show them my 3 annual passes that match the 3 names on my KTTW cards they will agree that they should do something.

as i was thinking of doing this last year but decided not to

maybe if you do not activate the tickets and try and up grade them to an AP or something
