My and my husband are going to be getting annual passes when we go in Dec  :santa:  and want to know what do the block out dates mean?

he blackout days are the busier days of the year, that depending on the level of Annual Pass you have you are "blacked out" or not included in your annual pass. You can buy a pass for the day for $35, so it is still a deal.
HTH!

The black out days are the days that you cannot use your AP to enter the park. You can however purchase a ticket for that day at a discounted price...I think around $40.00 if you want to go to the park. Premium annual passes have no black out days, therefore you can go to the park 365 days a year!:)

I purchase the Premium, and purchase the Deluxe for my family members. We generally avoid the park on the craziest of the blackout days anyway. I am usually the one making all the purchases, so by my having the premium, we have access to the additional benefits the premium offers over the deluxe.

I used to live in So Cal and I ALWAYS purchase the premium...my reasoning is that sometimes my son and I like to run to DLR for a couple hours to ride a couple particular rides. . .No matter what time of year. . .it works well for us and usually pays for itself in a couple trips. . .

What are the differences or benifits between Premium and Deluxe?
THANK!!

the premium has no blackout dates, the deluxe is blacked out mostly only during the busiest of days.
I hve the deluxe, figuring i don't want to go on those busiest of days!

Also you get a bigger discount with the premium... It is 15% on food in the parks and hotels, and 10% on merchandise. Dh and I both have premiums... :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if DVC members get an AP discount and if so, how much?

And deluxe is only 10% on most food, and nothing off of merchandise.

If anyone wants to give specific dates for their trip, I know that I would be happy to see if their dates fall into a blockout day.

But if you buy your AP on a blockout day, you're still allowed to go in (or if you have hoppers and upgrade to an AP you can do so on a blockout day).
