Annual Passholder Newsletter question

Just wanted to let everyone know that I got my AP Backstage Pass magazine today. You know, when you think about it, it isn't really late. I know it seems late because the holiday season is in full swing but it is not the 'holiday issue,' technically. It's the Winter issue, and Winter doesn't begin until December 21st. It's technically still Fall right now, so even though it seems wacky that the Mickey Pumpkin is still on the website, that is the Fall issue. I assume after Sunday, they will have the new one up, with Santa Mickey on the cover and the sparkly Castle in the background.

So I am sure everyone else's Backstage Pass is coming soon! Mine even survived the pouring rain outside, somehow!!

I hope I get this one! I don't mind not getting the fall one, but the winter one sounds pretty. :goodvibes

If that doesn't happen though, I'll be just as excited to see it online. :wizard:

I didn't get the Fall one either, Wendy! I just blamed it on me moving and they got confused with me changing my address. We'll see if I get this one...

I can't wait to see it! They did say middle of the week, which is today, so I'm hoping tomorrow it will be up!

I've been waiting and waiting for this because we moved and I knew I'd probably miss the mailed version... the online version STILL is not up yet.

Did you contact them to update your address? If not, do so, and request a copy. That's what we did last late May, and they actually sent the summer one in it's own envelope, as opposed to no-envelope how they usually send them. There's no guarantee they'll do it, but they might!

Just have everyone's name and AP number there, b/c you gotta leave ALL the info on the message. I've never talked that fast, well, at least since I got through my chatty teen years!

Someone that has a copy of the winter issue should scan the pages for us! :rolleyes1

I got mine (for some reason I got 2) yesterday. It should slowly be making it's way around the country.

Definitely slow, considering that some of the tours and discounts started last weekend.

BTW - didn't see this mentions, but we get 15% discount at The Disney Stores through the 31st.

Do you have the phone number for this? I'm going to give it a try. :yay:

The AP newsletter is finally available online! :yay:

In the AP section, in the FAQs:

Q: How can I change my address?
A: Download a Change of Address form and send it to:
Disneyland® Resort Annual Passport Program
Attn: Change of Address
P.O. Box 61094
Anaheim, CA 92803-6194

Or call (714) 781-1799† and leave a message that includes:
1) your name and that of any other Annual Passholder
in your household
2) your old address
3) your new address and phone number

That download bit is a link on the page.

I did both of these when I changed my address.

On the AP website they also have a section now to change your info through their website.

But I still haven't received my newsletter. :guilty:

So I'm reading the online edition. And it strikes me yet again how LATE these things are put out.

They have the holiday throw info in there. That from "now" to December 24 you can get this throw for $15 or whatever with a however-much purchase. They put it up on the 24th. :confused3

Now YES the info about the "throw" has been on the AP site for awhile now, but WHY waste the paper by putting it in something you're only going to send out a week or so before the promo is done?

And they talk about the castle walk-through like it's new and hasn't been open to the public since early this month.

Oh that's even better! "Now" through December 20, AP holders can get a "buy one get another half off" candle at Illuminations. HELPFUL!

Same date for a special Disney Store promo.

For anyone going before the end of the year, if you're looking for Lego stuff, check out the Lego info! If you buy $100 worth of stuff (remembering that all AP holders get 10% off there) you get a $10 Lego giftcard.

Continuing to read...this edition is almost useless. We should all call, write, email, to let them know they need to get them out earlier. There are SO many things people have missed out on b/c the issue is sent out so late (and I know that it's a Winter edition but SO many of their things were already done by the time it became winter!!!) and because they didn't get it online before today.

Also I went shopping at the Disney Store in our mall yesterday and I asked the cashier if Disneyland AP'ers get a discount and she said that they did get a 15% discount, but it ended December 20th. Was that in the AP newsletter too?

The date of the 20th was indeed in the newsletter. I haven't gotten it yet, but I was reading it online today.

You can see why I'm so riled up!

Editing...yes it's for Disney Store. Will go back and fix my other post.

I didn't realize that Disney sends us out free copies of the Family Fun magazine (like the one that is often on the table in the DLR hotel rooms) for having an AP, but I got one in the mail today - the Valentine's Day issue. And on the address label it said "Passport" near my name. Has anyone else who has an AP been getting the Family Fun magazine?

No, I haven't gotten it for having an AP. I used to subscribe when my boys were little. It is a good magazine. :thumbsup2
