annual passholder 20% discount thru Feb 1?

Add me on as another person that hopes they extend this into March...

So far, it has been extended to March 1. That's as of yesterday morning. Several CMs told us that during the day, there was some announcement to them at the time clock when they checked in yesterday.

There are so few people here this week, maybe attendance is down and Disney is trying to encourage people to spend more while they are here to make up for the missing bodies? I know I'm doing my part! :lmao:

How did everyone hear about this?!?! We just returned from a week long trip to BWV's and had NO idea. This is disappointing...

I was lucky enough to have the CM at my very first purchase on our trip in the MK tell me about the discount. I asked about the VISA 10% off to see if that was still available in the parks and she asked if I was an AP holder. She told me that discount was better at 20 %. Otherwise I would not have known either and I'd have been irritated if I got home and found out I missed the discount on my vacation.

My wife just bought things at DTD today and was just told it has been extended to mar 1.

Things must be slow.

I'm so hoping the March 1st date your wife received is correct... if so I might break out the CC and treat the kids to something cool... err... 12 y.o boys are easy but what is cool to a 16yo girl? :rotfl:

A 16 year old boyfriend?:duck: good luck

Oh how I hope its extended into March. We are buying APs when we get there March 10. We kicked ourselves for not buying one when we went in Dec because every time I bought anything I was told of the discount. At the time we didn't think we were going back until the following Dec. So I missed out on saving a ton of money on all those Dooney purses I bought LOL

:scared: Oh you're bad trying to scare me hehe (I went through all that over a year ago). (she actually already has "a friend who's a boy" & he's 17) :lmao:

Do we have a list of the places that do & don't honor the AP discounts? Back in Dec. I was told by the Jewelry store on Main St that they did not honor the pass discount. From that trip, I succeeded in using it at: MouseGears & the Wilderness Lodge Mercantile. Someone here mentioned that Japan does not... and I'm betting many of the countries around EPCOT may not. Also thinking Disney owned and operated stores such as the principal gift shops at all Disney resorts will take the discount.

And... Do we know if this is this good on all items from those stores, or are there restrictions? (such as no food items, brands like dooney & bourke etc?)

That's just the thing, there doesn't seem to be any written guidelines for this discount from Disney. The Jewelry store on Main Street DOES give a discount since I bought a watch there and got the 20% off. But there is no where to go to look up what the restrictions might be.

For example, I got 20% off a bottle of water at Epcot at a merchandise stand. The CM told me that the discount is available at a merchandise stand that happens to sell water but not at a snack stand. I tried to buy a bottle of water with the discount at a merchandise stand in Animal Kingdom and I was told there that no food items qualify. They couldn't explain why I got the 20% off in Epcot the day before. :confused3

My DGS really likes the Lego like building sets that feature rides from the MK. It looks like I'll be buying another one when I go in two weeks with my DCuzs!!
Boy, things must be tough for Disney when they keep extending the discount time, or maybe their sales are really good from that promotion.

We were just at Disney last week and never heard about this discount that is really upsetting, we could have saved a lot of money. I even asked about discounts at various stores.

Did you specifically ask anyone about a discount for AP holders? The CMs have said that they've been instructed not to offer the info but to wait for the guest to ask for the discount. I'd say asking if there was any discount for being an AP holder would qualify as having asked!

thanks will be back Feb 28 - so at least 2 days with the discount.

use to ask - but stopped that a while ago - looks like I need to start asking again.

What places take the discounts.. some examples? None of the food places? but the shops in the parks?

:) Thanks

we got the 20% off at the art of disney in epcot. This was in january, what a great place to save 20%.

I always asked, do you have an ap, dvc, or disney visa discount.

We used the 20% off all over the MK for merchandise. Also at the big Mouse Gears shop at Epcot and at the Germany location. Also the first gift shop on the main street at HS. I got the 20% off a bottle of water at a merchandise cart in Epcot but not from a merchandise store in Animal Kingdom. The 20% is also good at DTD although I'm sure many things at Arribas Brothers would be excluded. All you can really do is ask every time you purchase something to see if they honor the 20% off AP discount. I considered it a great bonus every time I heard the word "yes"!

I even tried it at the Disney outlet store but as expected, the extra 20% was not offered there.

I need to memorize that phrase but replace 'Disney Visa' with 'Tripple A'.
I have a $100 budget for 'extras' I set for each kiddo per trip. It'd be nice to know in advance if they'll be able to get their $100 to extend out to $120.

I hope it is March 1 we arrive on Feb 27th. We can do all our shopping early.

You mean $125. (Pretax, of course.)
