Annual Passes

Can someone explain annual passes to me? I am totally confused as to what this is and how it works. I see some people getting a discount on a room with this but how? Thanks!

An annual pass is good for one year from the first day you use it. The basic pass which is around $400+ gives you access to all 4 main theme parks. The Plus Annual Pass (PAP) is around $500+ and gives you access to all major parks and waterparks as well as Disney Quest. With an AP you are sometimes able to book rooms at a discount. Also with an Ap you can purchase a Dining Discount Card for $50 which will give you a 20% discount at most but not all WDW restaurants. However, with the Ap you automatically get a 10% discount at some WDW restaurants though is mainly only the lunch menu.
