annual passes

Ok...let's see if I have this down.

AP Non-DVC: $499 + $32.44 = $531.44 buying direct from Disney
AP DVC: $399 + $25.94 = $424.94
10day PH+Water from UCT: $375+$0 (taxes included)
10day PH+Water from Disney: $370+$24.05 = $394.05

So...I pay $375 to UCT and get $394.05 credit from Disney (once I use once) to get DVC AP for $424.94?

Difference between $394.05 and $424.94 is $30.89. So I save $30.89 per adult DVC AP purchased?

Is this correct?

You have to be careful when using a MYW Ticket that has the Water Park & More option. If you use one of the WP&M options, your only upgrade option will be a Premium AP.

Ah, didn't think of that. That makes sense. But my mathematical application to the process is correct?

The only thing I'm not sure about is if Disney takes sales tax in to consideration when you upgrade tickets. Other than that, yes your numbers look good.

Yes. You seem to be on the right track.

You can get a WP&M ticket to upgrade to a regular AP. Just don't use any of the WP&M options. If you do, THEN you will only be able to upgrade to a PAP.

I put all the prices from UT and Disney into an Excel. (UT with Mousesavers discount)

The 8 day hopper / WP option actually gives you a better discount than the 10 day with the same:

8 Day Hopper / WP from UT: $354.95
8 Day Hopper / WP from WDW: 383.40
Savings: $28.45

10 Day Hopper / WP from UT: $370.95
10 Day Hopper / WP from WDW: $394.05
Savings: 23.10

So with the 8 Day Hopper / WP, you get $383.40 credit, pay $41.54 on top to get the DVC AP which costs 424.94.

In your example, you gave the difference between the 10 Day Hopper and the AP as savings, but that's what you still have to pay. :-)

Do you have to get the No Expiration on the MYW? We did this way back when, but I can't remember.

Also, the cm who exchanged this for us did not do it correctly. I had to call a # when I got back (luckily I figured this out again when I got home) and they finally refunded me the difference.

No. You can get any MYW ticket, but you must upgrade within 14 days of first use regardless of whether you get the NE option or not.
